Attention all PlayStation players! Prepare for the next era of Call of Duty. During the Call of Duty: Next showcase event, new details emerged regarding the release of Modern Warfare II on October 28 and the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 later this year. Both titles promise a wealth of innovations and evolved gameplay.

Let’s go over some of the newly revealed features, as well as additional pre-order incentives for Modern Warfare II that are reserved exclusively for PlayStation.

Modern Warfare II Multiplayer Innovations

After years of development, Modern Warfare II has gone through extensive iterations, with numerous evolutionary changes in technology and design.

Swimming and water fights: Dive underwater to flank and attack enemies. With its increased density, water affects the dynamics of combat. Learn how to use sidearms and certain equipment to achieve your water goals.

Improved movement options: Glide or dive to the ground with a dolphin, offering more ways to throw yourself into an engagement. For vertical movements, use the ledge suspension to give you more freedom to explore your surroundings as you climb.

Use new vehicles: Drive brand new vehicles such as the UTV, Light Tank, Heavy Chopper, Tactical Vehicle and Rigid Inflatable Boat. Vehicles contain more interactive and destructible elements than ever before.

New Gear, Field Upgrades and Perks: Test new field upgrades such as the Tactical Camera, Shock Stick, Drill Charge, DDoS and Inflatable Decoy. Equip new Perk packs, with two basic perks plus a Bonus and Ultimate Perk earned in the match.

Gunsmith Weapon Platforms: Earn weapon platform attachments shared by all weapons on the same platform, as well as universal attachments shared by all relevant weapons.

New modes: Play Ground War and the new player and AI-mixed Invasion, and experience new modes such as Knockout, Prisoner Rescue and the new Third Person playlist for a different perspective.

shooting range: Available at launch, the Firing Range is an offline proving ground with three firing ranges, cover ledges, and multiple targets at varying distances.

Special operations: Continue the story after the Modern Warfare II campaign ends in a branching co-op experience that allows you to explore large-scale hot zones with your fellow teammate.

raids: Coming later this year after launch, Raids is a new experience for the franchise, a cooperative challenge that requires teamwork and strategy like never before.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Innovations

Get ready to head to Al Mazrah, the large and meticulously crafted new map launching with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 as part of Modern Warfare II Season One.

New modes of transport: In addition to using the new swim mechanic, you’ll also get the chance to take control of over a dozen unique vehicles. Occupy gas stations and look for gas bottles to keep your fuel supply up to date.

The store: An improved Buy Station that allows you to buy back squad members; buy gear such as gas masks, killstreaks, and armor; and buy and upgrade weapons. You can also sell valuable loot for cash.

Collapse circle: A storm gradually envelops the landscape of Al Mazrah. Expect variations on the traditional collapse, such as anomalies in the weather pattern that split the safe zone into multiple areas before merging back into a single safe zone.

The Gulag: Starting with just your fists, loot and fight in a multi-level 2v2 arena for a chance to re-enter the map. You can also eliminate the “Jailer” and use his keys to escape.

AI fighters and strongholds: Test your skills by attempting to capture a Stronghold, with a high density of AI fighters ready to defend the loot within.

DMZ: Join an all-new sandbox experience launching alongside Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Stay tuned for more info.
