Holders of The Hopeful NFTs will have access to private Discord channels featuring the Azra team, early beta access to Azra titles, and other undisclosed benefits.

“Azra’s first NFT art collection is inspired by the pioneering spirit of the web3 community and the shared pursuit of hope for the promise of web3,” Azra Games CEO and Founder Mark Otero said in a statement. “The name of our collection, The Hopeful, reflects both that promise and the spirit. The graphic novel art style pays tribute to the golden age of comics, where Azra’s Paul Martin, a former Marvel comics artist, led the latter style. We are excited to partner with Magic Eden to bring our coin to all crypto hopefuls.
Legions & Legends will be the first game from Azra Games, which recently closed a $15 million seed round from Andreessen Horowitz, NFX and other leading gaming and web3 investors. Otero previously led the development of Electronic Arts’ mobile hit Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes while at Capital Games. (Last year, the Star Wars game reached 100 million downloads).
Azra Games is on a mission to create deep, immersive game universes, with a specialized in-game economy and virtual collectibles, powered by Web3 technology such as NFTs, which use the blockchain to authenticate unique digital items. The seed funding will be used to accelerate the development of Azra’s first game – an epic, fantastic collectibles and massive combat RPG.
The collectibles and combat role-playing game is set in a sci-fi fantasy universe, where players control Legions in a new combat experience, craft massive war machines, trade in-game NFT collectibles and earn rewards in a new kind of in-game economy.

Ken Walton, vice president of growth at Azra Games, said in a statement: “Ethereum needs a high-performance launch pad like Magic Eden, and we’re excited to use it to hit The Hopeful. This first collection is just for our studio. and we are excited to be working with the talented people at Magic Eden.”
The Hopeful characters are employees of the Genesis Merchant Company – the intrepid explorers, miners, scrappers and merchants who discovered the Corvus Galaxy in Legions & Legends. Holders of this Genesis collection will have the first chance to test the game in beta.
“We are excited to launch The Hopeful Collection on Magic Eden’s Launchpad and give our community the first access to the magical universe that the Azra Games team is creating. Gaming is a big focus of ours and we are excited to partner with Azra’s team of experienced builders to make further progress in web3 gaming,” said Jack Lu, CEO of Magic Eden, in a statement.

Magic Eden recently expanded to the Ethereum blockchain in August 2022. As part of the company’s chain expansion, Magic Eden introduced the Magic Eden List (an admission list/whitelist management tool that helps creators build collection interest), a cross-chain drop calendar (a holistic view of the ecosystem’s most exciting emerging mints) , and cross-chain launchpad (which allows users to seamlessly monetize SOL, ETH, and credit cards).
