But this is not the only threat facing the people as there are those who are able to sit back. Since there is no shortage of threats, it is imperative that a person always remains on their toes.

Despite being surrounded by danger, there are certain characters who still make wrong decisions, endangering their safety and that of those around them. The stupid decisions of these characters also affected the story in some way. Here are some of the characters from Attack on Titan who made the stupidest decisions.

7 Armin Arlert

Armin has always had a reputation for being smart and guiding others through difficult situations, but he is not completely flawless. On numerous occasions, Armin managed to find himself in positions where he had nothing to say.

He supported Eren in most of his decisions and always tried to help him. As seen throughout the series, Armin’s decision to help Eren wasn’t always the best one, and it ended up affecting many other people in the series, such as when he decided to become the Colossal Titan in Marley.

6 Mikasa Ackerman

Like Armin, Mikasa has been a part of Eren’s life for a long time. She is a member of the famous Ackerman clan, but unfortunate incidents have made her live with the Yeager family. The Yeagers took care of Mikasa as if she were one of them.

Mikasa was indebted to them, and she swore she would protect Eren from any harm. At first, this seemed like a good decision, but over time it became clear that Mikasa’s devotion to Eren had blinded her to the point of hurting other people. Mikasa always hoped that Eren would return to his old self, but it never happened.

5 Reiner Braun

Not many characters have gone through the same level of development as Reiner. Reiner went from hero to villain to hero again. Reiner’s character is quite complex, which makes him an interesting character.

Reiner showed his stupidity when he stood on top of the wall with Eren and Bertholdt. Something came about Reiner and he decided to tell everyone their big secret. It’s easy to see that Reiner was under no pressure to tell Survey Corps members that he and Bertholdt were Titans.

4 Levi Ackerman

At one point in the series, Levi Ackerman was considered the strongest soldier in the Survey Corps. Erwin Smith was aware of how valuable Levi was to humanity. For most of the series, Levi executed the missions flawlessly, but there were times when he, too, suffered from the inability to make the right decision.

The first bad decision Levi made was when he chose to intimidate the female Titan, which sent the Titan into a frenzy and resulted in his entire team being wiped out. Another bad decision was to let Armin become the Colossal Titan, knowing that Erwin would have been more valuable. Finally, the worst decision Levi made was to put the bomb in Zeke when it was absolutely unnecessary.

3 Ilse Langnar

Ilse was a member of the Survey Corps. She was selected to lead one of the wings of the Second Brigade, meaning she was reliable enough to lead. Unfortunately, all of her comrades were eventually slaughtered by the Titans.

Ilse ran into a forest where she met an eccentric Titan. Ilse tried to talk to the Titan and surprisingly the Titan responded to her questions. After a short question-answer session, Ilse got frustrated and started yelling at the Titan, which everyone can confirm was a bad decision. The Titan began to tear his flesh, which horrified Ilse, so she decided to run out. However, the Titan managed to bite her head off, leaving her for dead.

2 Levi’s Whole Squad

Levi’s Squad met a tragic fate when they faced the Female Titan. The crew had a great responsibility on their shoulders and they were eager to get the job done. While the squad was with Eren, they were constantly trying to convince Eren to trust them.

They wanted Eren to depend on them so they could take out the Female Titan themselves. This was not a good decision by any means and it resulted in the entire squad being slaughtered. Levi’s team could have used Eren’s help, and they could have captured Annie without suffering all the casualties.

1 Eren Yeager

Eren Yeager is the main protagonist of the series and also its most controversial character. After seeing his mother being eaten by a Titan, Eren was traumatized and wanted to help other people fight the Titans. This version of Eren was great because he intended to settle things peacefully.

But as the series progressed, Eren changed and the consequences were terrible. Eren took power, leading to the deaths of many of his fellow Survey Corps members. Another example where Eren showed his folly was when he decided to interrupt Reiner’s conversation with Bertholdt. Instead of interrupting them, Eren could have quietly listened to them. His dumbest decision, however, was to start the Rumbling, which resulted in more than half of the world’s population being wiped out. Eren considered this plan the only way to help the people of Paradis Island.
