Good morning everyone, and welcome to a brand new week! Yep, it’s Monday, which means lots of exciting new games to play. Whether you want to have some radical beat ’em up fun in TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection or relive Joel and Ellie’s dramatic story in The Last of Us: Part I, a new game is coming for you! So let’s not waste any more time looking at all the new games coming out this week.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (Aug. 30)
We kick off this week, we have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection! Developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Konami, this radical collection of turtles games take players back to all the arcade and retro beat ’em up classics. With 13 classic TMNT games from arcades to home consoles such as the NES and SEGA Genesis, this collection is a must-have for everyone turtles fan.
In addition to the extensive library of games, this title is also packed with additional features, art and extras for diehard fans. Players can also take advantage of a more modern control scheme and other sensitivity options. TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is out tomorrow for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Destroy All People 2: Rejected (Aug. 30)
Invading your house is the following: Destroy All People 2: Rejected. Developed by Black Forest Games and published by THQ Nordic, the team completely rebuilt the original game in Unreal Engine 4. The remake promises to be “the most funkadelic version” ever, adding new features to the 2006 classic.
Some of the new features of this remake include additional skins for Crypto and the ability to change colors on your flying saucer. In addition, you can also have fun exploiting all the new weapons like the Meteor Strike to destroy your enemies. Destroy All People 2: Rejected is out tomorrow for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Ooblets (Sept. 1)
Next, developer and publisher Glumberland brings us the adorable farming simulator Ooblets. In this malicious indie title, players are tasked with planting and growing cute creatures called Ooblets. From there, you can train your Ooblets to complete tasks and compete in dance battles.
In addition, you can decorate and expand your farm and complete side missions of the inhabitants of Badge Town. Originally, the game was first launched on early access PC and on Xbox One with Xbox Game Preview in 2020. Now, Ooblets makes its full official debut on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 1.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R (Sept. 2)
Is that a JoJo reference? You better believe it is with the new remaster of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R. Developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco, this title is the ultimate fighting game for fans of anime and manga.
The original game launched in 2013 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive and featured 40 playable characters from all eight chapters of the manga. Now, the remaster not only brings this fighting cult classic to the modern generation, but also introduces ten all-new playable fighters. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R coming September 2 to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
LEGO Brawls (Sept. 2)
If you want to battle it out in the world of LEGO, we’ve got the perfect game for you. Developed by Red Games and published by LEGO Games, LEGO Brawls is the ultimate minifigure team action brawler. In this exciting new platform fighter you can team up with your friends both locally and online to become the world’s greatest LEGO fighting champions.
You can also fully customize your LEGO minifigure hero with unique styles, strategies and personality. Then you can take them through different stages modeled after your favorite LEGO sets like Barracuda Bay, Ninjago Seabound and more. LEGO Brawls releases on September 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness (Sept. 2)
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is a 3D action RPG with an original story set in the world of the anime. Developed by Chime and published by Spike Chunsoft, this game returns to many fan favorite characters with their original voice acting. Plus, the story was even supervised by the manga’s original writer, Akihito Tsukushi.
The game follows the story of the anime after the first meeting of Riko and Reg in the first episode of season one. Additionally, another completely original in-game story follows days after Riko and Reg left the Abyss. Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness launches on September 2 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The Last of Us Part I (Sept. 2)
Finally, Naughty Dog and PlayStation Studios bring us back to the origins of The last of us with a complete redesign of the original. While the original story remains intact, the remake promises to improve many technical aspects of the game. The next-gen remake will include modern control updates, improved graphics and modern accessibility features.
Overall, the new game hopes to serve as the final version of The last of us by retelling the original critically acclaimed story with gameplay more like Part II. You can relive The Last of Us Part I on September 2 for PlayStation 5. In addition, the game will also come to PC in the future.
