Pokemon Legends Arceus was an instant hit when it was released in late January 2022. The game deviated from the main series formula just enough to satisfy fans and give them a gaming experience they’ve been waiting for. Unlike other spin-offs from the pokemon series, Pokemon Legends Arceus was its own game and was not part of some other titular spin-off games such as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon or Pokemon Ranger.
Pokemon Legends Arceus has spawned many fan creations in its wake, mainly fanart but also some hilarious memes that only those who have played the game for themselves will truly understand.

It’s no secret that the gameplay styles of the most important pokemon games and Pokemon Legends Arceus are vastly different. With the spin-off game coming out around the time Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl came out, many comparisons were made between the games.
One is beautifully demonstrated in this meme about catching and encountering Pokemon in both games. While in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearlplayers found themselves hiding from pesky Pokemon that would jump at them, players in Pokemon Legends Arceus are the ones who sneak up and surprise unsuspecting Pokemon.

A key difference between the main series and Pokemon Legends Arceus is how players approach and attack Pokemon. In the main games, players have to fight against other Pokemon with their own Pokemon. However, in Pokemon Legends Arceus, that’s notoriously not the case.
In addition to catching Pokemon without ever fighting them, players can use a variety of berries and items to stun and distract the target. Pokemon Legends Arceus feels really like trainer vs pokemon at times.
6 Cutting board or legendary plate?

One of the main objectives everywhere Pokemon Legends Arceus is to collect all the elemental plates given to noble Pokemon throughout Hisui. Since the game revolves around the elemental Poke-God himself, Arceus, it’s no surprise that these plates play such a big part.
However, their design somewhat resembles that of a cutting board. So players can’t necessarily blame the sophisticated and knowledgeable Cogita for grabbing the legendary record for a simple chopping board.
5 “Don’t go into the tall grass without a Pokemon!”

Players familiar with the main series games know full well that NPCs are adamant that the protagonist won’t go out into the tall grass, or somewhere nearby where they can encounter Pokemon, without one of them fighting back themselves. Pokemon Legends Arceus presents a slightly more morbid take on this line, telling the main character over and over that Pokemon are dangerous creatures that can kill trainers if given the chance.
While players cannot die permanently in Pokemon Legends Arceus, the imminent threat of the powerful and unpredictable Pokemon lingers in the minds of players constantly.
4 Pokemon Legends Arceus players can’t swim

When players see the large bodies of water for the first time and gleefully jump into them, thinking they’ll take a leisurely swim, only to drown a few seconds later, they’re not alone. One of the more questionable features of the game is the main character’s complete inability to swim for even a few seconds.
Are you trying to cross a simple, shallow river? No shot, as the main character will swing and drown in seconds, even if the shore is there and in sight.
3 The real god of space

Tragically, there is only so much room in the players’ bag when it comes to collecting items. That said, Bagin, who is by the main stairs in the Galaxy Expedition Team HQ, will be happy to expand the player’s bag space to earn more and more money.
While Palkia may be the true Poke God of space, it looks like Bagin is coming to steal that title soon with his mysterious powers to expand the player’s bag and allow them to collect more items in the wild.
2 A fair trade?

One of the last battles players have to face in Pokemon Legends Arceus is the duel with Volo. After earning all seventeen elemental plates, players must immediately hand them over and face the wrath of Volo and Giratina.
While there aren’t many trainer battles in Pokemon Legends Arceus, the fight with Volo is considered the most difficult to beat. Like Cynthia, he uses a balanced and powerful team that most players can’t beat in battle. Perhaps it wasn’t the fairest trade to trade all those hard-earned records to be held by a merchant.
1 Fleeing Alpha Pokemon

If something genuine fear in the hearts of Pokemon Legends Arceus players, it’s the Alpha Pokemon. With their glowing red eyes, violent nature and tendency to grab players and relentlessly chase and attack them, they are not a force to be reckoned with without preparation.
That said, many players have to flee Alpha Pokemon at the start of their playthrough from Pokemon Legends Arceus.The action can be very similar to this: running away from an all-powerful beast that seems to be just around the corner, always one step behind.
