As part of IGN’s Awesome Indies Showcase at Gamescom 2022, Drinkbox Studios announced DLC for Nobody saves the world! The expansion, titled Frozen Hearthwill be released on September 13 and will feature a variety of new content, including the new Killer Bee and Mechanic forms, a new area, and even new challenges.
The DLC costs $4.99 USD and will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC via Steam, GOG and the Microsoft Store. For those of you who haven’t picked up the title yourself yet, you can purchase the game and DLC in a bundle for $27.99 USD. The Steam version of the bundle also includes the OST of the game at no additional cost.
When we released the original game, there were so many ideas that we had to leave on the cutting floor floor, and this DLC gave us a chance to bring some of them to life. We loved creating even more shapes and puzzles and challenges that make the most of the game’s mix-and-match customization!
The Frozen Hearth DLC reveals a forgotten region deep underground where the strongest warriors compete for glory in The Tempering, a series of puzzles and challenges that will stimulate players’ transformation skills and creativity. Passing the Tempering trials will reward players with the new Killer Bee and Mechanic forms, which can be used in both the DLC and the main game.
Nobody saves the world Vinyl set now available
Drink box, next door Nobody saves the world composer Jim Guthrie, has also announced a crowdfunding campaign they are running through Bandcamp. When it reaches $7,874 USD, donors will receive a limited Nobody saves the world colored vinyl set (two discs). The vinyl set will also feature artwork created by Drinkbox art director Augusto Quijano.
The campaign is currently live and will run through Friday, September 23. Assuming the vinyl set is successfully funded, backers can expect it to be around the corner in early 2023.
Nobody Saves the World: Frozen Hearth releases on September 13 in just under two weeks for consoles and PC. Having already played the title earlier this year, I’m really looking forward to the release of the DLC and can’t wait to dive into this quirky gem of a game again.
