In fact, he has played an important part in the story of the show from the very first few minutes, although his character arc has confronted him with many problems. In an interview with Collider, Usher not only confirmed filming for the boys season 4 is about to start, but he also delved into that extra layer of complexity added to his once-simple character, including getting a second chance at life thanks to Vought. “That’s when he realizes, ‘Yeah, I have a second chance at life. Yes, you have given me a heart. I’m still here. But now my life is yours. That’s how it feels,” Usher said. Usher also explained the intricacies of his character’s Herogasm moment, claiming that despite his heartfelt apology to Hughie who felt like a turning point, A-Train is still in that “act first, think later” mentality when he plays Blue Hawk kills.


The actor also explained how showrunner Eric Kripke gets feedback from his stars. For example, Kripke told Usher that A-Train’s brother would lose his legs and asked for his feedback on how the character can get some form of redemption. Finally, Usher hopes A-Train interacts with some characters he has rarely spoken to, such as Kimiki and Mother’s Milk, so that he can learn something beyond his slow process of introspection.

the boysNext season is sure to draw a lot of attention as the series continues to be one of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest hits, especially as the BoysVerse expands with additional spin-off content. Despite not receiving the life-saving medical procedures A-Train got, a character who could also come back to the boys is Black Noir, though most likely in an entirely different form after the almost certain death of the original.


As the MCU continues to struggle to find its new identity in phase four, the boysNon-stop satire and crude storytelling remain compelling enough to keep fans interested and asking for more.
