The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is considered by many to be one of the absolute best video games ever made. It has received near universal acclaim from critics and fans alike, with incredible sales figures cementing it as a huge success for the Zelda Brand. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has millions of fans around the world, and one of them is WWE legend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

This was first revealed in a promotional video for an episode of the Broken Skull Sessions, which is basically a live-action version of Stone Cold’s podcast where he interviews various guests. To promote new episodes, Stone Cold often hosts a segment where he asks his guests quick questions, which is exactly what he did when he interviewed Cody Rhodes. One of the questions Austin asked Rhodes was what he thinks is best? Zelda game, to which Rhodes replied Ocarina of Time. Austin fired back by insisting that Breath of the Wild was actually the best Zelda game.

Now WWE has released behind-the-scenes photos of Broken Skull Sessions, in which Austin showcases some of the guests he’s featured on over the past year. One of the photos shows Austin playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the screen typically used to show wrestling matches and photos, complete with Switch Joy-Cons.

Austin is one of the most popular WWE superstars of all time, if not the most popular. He is best known for his work during the Attitude era, where he served as a WWF champion and had high profile feuds with the likes of Mick Foley, The Rock and The Undertaker. With niggling injuries, Austin withdrew from in-ring competition in the early 2000s, but he made his shocking return to WWE earlier this year at WrestleMania 38.

At WrestleMania, Austin entered his first match in decades, facing Kevin Owens. Their brawl was well received, and many were impressed by Austin’s performance after being out of the ring for so long. Austin reappeared on the second night of WrestleMania, delivering Stone Cold Stunners to Austin Theory, Pat McAfee and nemesis Mr. McMahon.

Now that Austin’s love for Breath of the Wild announced, it will be interesting to see if he shares his thoughts on the upcoming sequel. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild the sequel is expected to be released sometime in 2023, though no official release date has been announced at the time of writing.
