One of the Genshin impactOne of the most mysterious locations is certainly the floating island known as Celestia. It can be seen in the sky above Teyvat, and is rumored to be the abode of the gods. Genshin impact stories claim that mortals who prove themselves worthy can actually ascend to Celestia and become a god. While Celestia’s location is still unknown, the current map layout shows that it was placed west of Stormterror’s Liars and northwest of Qingyun Peak. A recent leak on the popular Genshin impact Leaks subreddit has apparently revealed an early model for this floating island.

Multiple comments in the comment section argue that fans should not count on hopes as HoYoverse is likely to replace the current 2D model with a new one. At this point, the floating island is represented by a single transparent image that is tilted slightly downward. This is why Celestia appears almost horizontal when viewed from Stormterror’s Liars. It certainly makes sense to create a 3D model of Celestia as it makes the island more realistic when viewed from different angles.

This is especially important as recent leaks have confirmed that the new Sumeru region is south of Liyue, meaning players will be able to see the southern part of the floating island. The new Sumeru region will apparently be divided into two main parts: rainforests and deserts. The recent trailer video only revealed the rainforest portion of the region, meaning players will most likely have the option to unlock the deserts of Sumeru in later updates.

While there’s always a lot of hype when Celestia is mentioned in a leak, players expect the floating island to be at the end of their Genshin impact trip. In the past, people could communicate with the floating island through special messengers. A popular civilization called Sal Vindagnyr was destroyed by Celestia by dropping the Skyfrost Nail found in the popular Dragonspine region. Another similar nail can be found in the recently revealed mines of Chasm.

Genshin impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
