Fall Guys Developers Address Accidental In-Game Purchases, Refunds For All Requests Submitted

After players reported many accidental purchases in the Fall Guys in-game store, the developers refund customers and fix issues.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout recently made the switch from a paid game to free-to-play, then relaunched with a completely different monetization and progression system. Within the first days, Autumn boys‘ free-to-play version amassed over 20 million players and was also released on the Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles. While there were some issues with the release of this new version, developer Mediatonic still saw great success in the transition. However, not all reactions were positive about the game’s reworked systems.

Recently, players reported a bug involving the in-game cosmetics store for: Autumn boys. A post on Reddit showed that they were only looking at some items in it, and without confirming anything, the game automatically bought a cosmetic they didn’t want. A fellow Redditor had a similar problem and recalled the incident where the customer service representative disapproved of them when they claimed it was a bug. After several players reported this issue, Autumn boys developers have come out and addressed the issue.

In a recent tweet on Autumn boysTwitter account, Mediatonic states that the team has heard all feedback about the accidental purchases and apologized for not addressing matters sooner. As a result, the team will implement a number of ways to make up for all affected customers. The first is that the design of the in-game store will be improved so that this problem will not occur again.

The second is that all players who have made a purchase within the Autumn boys store will be refunded upon request. This applies to all cosmetic purchases made from June 21, and all such refunds will be honored until the store is repaired. The third update is that players will get a free Legendary Grandis skin as compensation, which is a variation of the Long Guy Autumn boys costume. The promotional image of this skin indicates that the Grandis skin can also change color, which is linked to the player’s color scheme.

In a statement with PC Gamer, a Mediatonic spokesperson also spoke of the poor customer service players had received during this time, noting that the response was “unacceptable” and that they intended to make things right. Despite the problems fans had experienced, Autumn boys team tries to correct these hurdles and ensure that customers are satisfied.

Autumn boys is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
