Bugs and glitches aren’t that common in Call of Duty: Vanguard, but one player found a strange instance of two operator models merged together.
Buggy live service releases are a common occurrence in the modern age of gaming, but all things considered, Sledgehammer Games’ FPS 2021 release Call of Duty: Vanguard has remained relatively firm in this regard since its debut in November. In addition to some infamous cases of players abusing Call of Duty: VanguardSo-called “elevator glitch” and a briefly botched Search and Destroy mode, most of the issues manifest as minor visual glitches, case in point being a strange bug pointed out by Reddit user u/OptimusZombiieee who saw operator Polina Petrova’s head rendered on Wade Jackson’s shoulders.
While certainly strange when closely inspected, this post on Call of Duty: Vanguard the subreddit is a testament to the poster’s conscience; spotting such a small inconsistency in the frenzy of a Das Haus multiplayer match is no small feat. Also, this is far from the strangest combination of operators possible. If Polina had merged with the Godzilla Operator skin, for example, that would truly be a sight to behold.
Some fans may remember that these skins actually caused quite a bit of controversy when they debuted alongside the game’s Season 3 introduction. Many Call of Duty: Vanguard players regretted the Godzilla cosmetic, as the skin’s neon blue look made players much easier to spot. Still, of the more than two dozen unique operators included so far in the Call of Duty: VanguardGodzilla, Mechagodzilla and King Kong might not be the most out of place.
The least believable award call to action operator would have to go to rapper Snoop Dogg, who was introduced as a playable operator during season two. Leading his own cleverly titled SOTF 420 faction, Snoop Dogg feels wildly anachronistic given the game’s WWII setting. Snoop is actually no stranger to the gaming world; he is an occasional Twitch streamer and has even had a role in games like True Crime: Streets of LA and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Also, while this strange mix of Polina and Wade operators might be strange, it also serves as a reminder that Call of Duty: VanguardThe weirdest operator skins are probably still to come. As evidenced by the inclusion of ’80s action icons like John Rambo and John McClane and the horror villain Ghostface in 2020 Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarActivision and its developers prefer to wait until the end of a game’s lifecycle to come up with the craziest skins.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
