While Capcom continues to work on other projects in their franchises, Monster Hunter World remains their best-selling title, and this is evident from the game’s current player count. The game provided fans with a plethora of content to enjoy, most notably with its Iceborne expansion that added more monsters and different armor to grind for.

This not only suited players who had completed the base game, but also encouraged replayability and new players to experience the game as a complete collection. Of Monster Hunter Rise recently received from his solar time expansion, players will be looking forward to every possible future title, be it a sequel to World or a brand new entry.

6 New weapons

One of the factors Monster Hunter World was praised for the unique set of weapons and the mechanics in each of them. For players unfamiliar with the title and previous Monster Hunter titles, there was some difficulty adapting to the combat styles and moves in each battle against different sets of monsters.

Capcom designed the title to encourage trial and error in the practice areas and at each encounter with creatures. What a new addition to the series would greatly benefit from is an addition of new weapons and some of which are meant to help players who are having problems while adding a new set of tools that players can use against new enemies.

5 Cutscenes that can be skipped

Many fans will be aware of the more frustrating feature in this title, forcing players to go through cutscenes even if they have a second playthrough. While this can now be resolved thanks to the modding community, it’s something Capcom should keep in mind as not all players are interested in the title’s story, but rather the hunt.

This depends on the development choices Capcom decides to implement in this within a possible sequel, but fans who can’t wait will have to rely on mods at this point. Given that these cutscenes only appear after each encounter with a monster, this may not be seen as a significant factor for some fans.

4 Revised matchmaking system

The biggest problem that Monster Hunter World had in the eyes of many players was the matchmaking system. To join other players’ hunts, a quest should be posted on the quest board so friends can join now. For players helping newcomers, they are forced to wait for their cutscenes to finish until they can finally join in.

This is very different from many other multiplayer titles and their simple systems of joining a lobby and communicating with each other, similar to Destiny. While this ‘Tower’-esque feature is certainly present in the game’s collection hub, it seems a lot less necessary and more of an effort to get done. To alleviate this in a sequel, Capcom needs to make this much easier and once players join a lobby, they should all appear in the same presence, which would ultimately allow for a much smoother matchmaking.

3 Faster running animation

While Monster Hunter World certainly features some of the best animation, especially when it comes to combat and other maneuvers, the running animation seems more like a jog rather than a full sprint of the player character. This also comes with a huge amount of stamina that dissipates depending on whether characters have eaten before a hunt, and decreases faster during combat.

Capcom has almost certainly implemented a faster-depleted stamina system as a gameplay mechanic, as this adds to the challenge and thought-provoking processes amid shooting each monster. Whether improving this animation to a full-fledged sprint will change this drastically is up to the developers.

2 Voicelines

In addition to the frustration of not being able to skip cutscenes, there are the unrealistic ones in which the player-created character is silent during every part of the dialogue. This was recently introduced in Monster Hunter Rise with a different number of choices for voice types and gestures.

Not only has Capcom now laid the foundation for this, but they now have the opportunity to improve this even further for a World sequel, to provide the best region-specific adaptation fans have ever experienced before. This would be an extra incentive for some, who spend less time tweaking their characters’ physical appearance, to take it much more seriously.

1 Animation Variation/Options

Just similar to the addition of voice samples in Monster Hunter Rise are the new sets of options in weapon attack and damage response animations. Considering how recently To get up still is, fans will expect another entry in the franchise much later based on the gap between World and To get up‘s releases.

This gives Capcom the time needed to produce the most ambitious and optimal Monster Hunter experience, given the number of impressive features in all the titles to date.
