Endermites have been implemented quite recently and are only added as part of Minecraft 1.8, “The Abundant Update.” These hostile mobs are rare and only have a chance to spawn after the player rolls an Ender Pearl. Not only are they rare, but they are also hard to spot, as these elusive mobs are a staggering 0.30 blocks high.
Endermites are considered the smallest hostile mob in Minecraft, though it is the same height and width as the silverfish, but it beats the writhing hostile crowd for its short, stubby length. That said, the two mobs are often compared, as they share the same motion animation and audio files.
