She-Hulk took Jennifer Walter’s to the Summer Twilights retreat this week, where she and Emil Blonsky were reunited. Though unconventional, the superhuman retreat was just what Jen needed and was perfectly placed amid a show that often blends the fantastical elements of superhero life with the modern world.

Jen’s love life has taken a shocking turn and She-Hulk’s biggest challenge yet lies in wait. Before the plot twist was revealed, Episode 7 introduced quite a few new faces, all of them rather obscure characters from Marvel Comics in need of some healing.

Man Bull

Man-Bull’s real name in the comics is William Taurens and as he mentioned in She-Hulk, his powers were the result of being experimented on in a laboratory. Man-Bull had a fight with Daredevil a few times in the comics, when he tried to kidnap more people to experiment with.

Obviously, Man-Bull is working on improving himself, so chances are he’s already dabbled in the art of villainy and trying to move on. Daredevil still has a cameo in the last two episodes of She-Hulkso maybe Matt Murdock will say something to Jen about the fact that he and Man-Bull have had previous encounters.

Saracen

Saracen was one of the first vampires on Earth in Marvel Comics, and he successfully adapted to life in the modern world. He first appeared in Blade: Vampire Hunter #1 after centuries of developing its powers under the Vatican.

Emil Blonsky said that the Saracen fans who met in Episode 7 just think he’s a vampire, and he doesn’t seem to share any superhuman abilities with his comic book counterpart. So although She-Hulk’s Saracen won’t suck blood anytime soon, it was a nice nod to the coming Sheet movie set for release in Phase 5.

El Aguilac

Alejandro Montoya, better known by his alias El Aguila, was a Robin Hood-type character in Marvel Comics. He stole money from wealthy criminals and distributed it to the less fortunate, before finally teaming up to do good with Power Man and Iron Fist.

El Aguila was a mutant in the comics, and as fans saw in She-Hulk, he can manipulate bioelectricity to give his sword a supercharged explosion. Both versions of the character are skilled swordsmen, though his MCU origins were pretty fuzzy.

Porcupine

Three different characters took on the mantle of the porcupine in the comics, although it is believed that She-Hulk’s Porcupine is the original villain. The original Porcupine was named Alexander Gentry and he built the suit as a weapon for the US military, but in the end he decided to keep the suit for himself.

The characters in She-Hulk commented on a foul smell coming from the suit when Porcupine took off his mask in group therapy, possibly nodding at the suit’s ability to shoot deadly gases and chemicals into the strips. Porcupine also struggled with self-confidence in the comics, so his reluctance to part with the suit and show vulnerability in She-Hulk it wasn’t really that big of a task.

wrecker

Wrecker was introduced in episode 3 a few weeks ago, when he and his gang of troublemakers attacked Jen with stolen Asgardian weapons. Wrecker’s real name in the comics was Dirk Garthwaite, and he seems to have said goodbye to his crowbar and Wrecking Crew in episode 7 of She Hulk.

The Muppets

While waiting for a text from Josh, Jen watches the Muppets on her couch and shows a scene where Miss Piggy channels alien power and bends the bars of her prison cell to escape. This matches Jen’s own superhuman strength and her ability to break free from almost any cage she could be placed in as She-Hulk.

Additionally, Kermit the Frog is arguably the most famous Muppet in existence and is known for his song “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” if She-Hulk has done everything, it’s proof to the public that having a big, green alter-ego makes life incredibly difficult.

Intelligence is back

After weeks of struggling to find the perfect man, Jen struck up a wholesome romance with a man named Josh, who last week said he “just loved Jen.” In keeping with her terrible dating track record, Josh turned out to be the worst date of them all, using their entire relationship as a trick for Intelligencia.

Last week ended with a man named HulkKing concocting a plan to get her hands on She-Hulk’s DNA, and episode 7 revealed that Josh was the inside guy doing HulkKing’s dirty work. Jen said she wasn’t worried about Intelligencia because everyone involved knows she would be “Hulk-smashed” by her, so hopefully she’ll keep the same energy if she gets wind of Josh’s betrayal.
