 
It’s no secret that Netflix is one of the largest entertainment companies in the world and one of the leading faces of the extremely lucrative world of online streaming. However, with the ever-changing nature of entertainment markets, it is clear that the company needs to broaden its scope and offer services to keep up with the ongoing level of competition.
  
One of the main ways Netflix appears to be doing this is through the establishment of its own game studios and by partnering with other developers to keep bringing video games to the service. While Netflix’s recent Tudum 2022 event was naturally dominated by film and TV, there was plenty of information about some of the latest video game-related content to be made available soon.
 
Oxenfree: Netflix Edition
One of the first announcements made during the Tudum 2022 event involved a Netflix edition of the popular mystery adventure game Ox free. Originally launched in 2016, the captivating art style and gripping story of the title is considered one of the most enjoyable contemporary indie experiences on the market.
The Netflix Edition of Ox free is now available as part of Netflix’s standard subscription on mobile devices and offers an extensive level of localization language support for international fans. With a sequel to Ox free Currently in development, this title offers a fantastic opportunity for Netflix subscribers to experience the game if they haven’t already.
Desta: the memories between
Desta: the memories between is an upcoming title that will also be coming to Netflix, as reported at the Tudum 2022 event. From the makers of Monument Valley, desta is set to combine a thought-provoking story with an engaging 3D art style and metaphorical gameplay.
The title reportedly explores the relationships between the characters by reliving their memories in a dreamlike arena, in which turn-based strategy dominates the core of the game. Also being made available through Steam and mobile devices, Desta: the memories between will seemingly provide a fascinating experience upon final release.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Get cooking
The following SpongeBob SquarePants: Get cooking will be a Netflix exclusive title, making it one of the most unique announcements from the Tudum event. go cook seems to be a kind of successor to the popular online game Crispy Cook-offwith the two titles both being developed by Tilting Point.
go cook players will take control of SpongeBob at the Krusty Krab, processing intense amounts of orders in a classic chef game style. With progression and a fully customizable restaurant, go cook will be a great addition to Netflix’s growing range of games.
Compass point: West
Compass point: West is another long-standing title, originally launched in 2015. Developed by Next Games, Compass point has gained a large following on mobile devices since its launch, with a particularly large presence on Facebook’s gaming channels.
The title plays like a strategic action game, in which players reclaim territory in a stylized Old West while battling foreboding enemy forces. Given its continued popularity after so long, Compass point: West I think it’s definitely worth picking up via the Netflix service.
Stranger Things: Puzzle Stories
Stranger Things: Puzzle Stories is another title developed by Next Games and already exists on iOS and Android devices. As announced at the Tudum event, the title will be moved exclusively to the Netflix platform by the end of 2022.
The game showcases the characters of the hugely popular Netflix show Weird stuffaptly portrayed in the style of an early morning cartoon from the 1980s. Reviewing iconic locations in the town of Hawkins, Puzzle stories plays like a puzzle RPG and is sure to thrive under the Netflix moniker after already gaining a commendable following.
Nailed: Baking Bash
Another Netflix exclusive, Nailed: Baking Bash is a title based on the popular Netflix baking show Success! The show itself is centered around amateur bakers who go out of their way to replicate extremely elaborate and skilled cakes, and the game does its best to stay true to this.
Launching on mobile devices via Netflix on October 4 Baking Bash will seemingly deliver high-octane gameplay in which players go through a variety of fast-paced mini-games to faithfully recreate an intricate cake or pastry. Aided by a crazy and lively art style to match the fast pace, Nailed: Baking Bash could be a hidden gem on the Netflix service.
Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited
In line with the trend of Netflix adapt the most popular shows to the medium of video games, Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited will arrive on service this fall. Based on the hit show Narcos, Unlimited Cartel Wars is set to build on the success of the original mobile game called Narcos: Cartel Wars.
In Unlimited Cartel Wars, players will engage in strategy and basic construction to create their own illegal cartel empire. With players then having to choose between compassion or fear to build and consolidate their industry, the well-established success of the previous iteration of the mobile title ensures this upcoming version is well received by fans upon release.
Kentucky Route Zero
Many will already be familiar with Kentucky Route Zero, as it is an already released and very well received point-and-click adventure title. Originally released in 2013, the game is fondly remembered for its immersive art style and unique story.
Since the game was originally published in five acts and several years in episodes, players can now participate in the full gameplay experience via Netflix. With a “ghostly electronic score” and gripping supernatural plot elements, Kentucky Route Zero is well set up to become one of the hottest games in the Netflix catalog in the coming months.
