Dead in daylight asymmetrical horror action has only gotten more dynamic over the years, and one of the biggest reasons is the game’s ever-expanding roster. With each new Survivor and Killer that is added, the game becomes more complex, as the pool of powers and advantages gets deeper and harder to strategize. While Survivors don’t have the complex powers that Killers have, each still brings unique benefits and strategies into play.

The games Resident Evilcrossovers may have started with Nemesis, but they didn’t end there. Project W introduces two new Survivors, Rebecca Chambers and Ada Wong, who join Jill, Leon and the other Survivors in the Trials. When used properly, Rebecca Chambers perks can make a significant difference to any team. Here are some great tips for beginners for using Rebecca Chambers.

5 Better than new

While Survivors have few unique traits compared to Killers and essentially function as glorified skins once all of their perks are unlocked, it’s still important to understand how to use their perks, especially if the player goes for the Adept feat. Rebecca Chambers is a combat medic, and its benefits are primarily aimed at keeping other survivors alive.

Her first advantage, Better than new, is activated when completing a healing action on another survivor. Until that Survivor takes damage, their Action Speed for Healing, Unlocking, Cleaning, and Blessing is enhanced. Better than new is a good fit for centered around healing and stackable buffs. However, since it only benefits the other Survivor, it’s not always the best choice for a solo queue, and it won’t do much to save the player from a great Nurse or Blight.

4 reassurance

The second advantage of Rebecca Chambers, reassurance, is probably her best. One of the strongest Killer strategies in Dead in daylight is camping (staying near an addicted Survivor to refuse rescue attempts), a strategy that: reassurance direct counters. Pressing the Active Ability button within six meters of a crocheted Survivor allows the player to stop their Sacrifice progress for the next 30 seconds.

30 seconds may not seem like much, but it can mean a huge amount of generator repair progress, and since the killer is most likely camping when this perk is used, survivors can work on generators unhindered. If the addicted Survivor is in the battle phase, their skill checks will be paused for the duration of reassurance effect. although reassurance can only be used once per hook instance, it’s still incredible at punishing campers.

3 hyperfocus

Just as the powers of killers like the plague, the fighter, and the nurse require a lot of practice and skill to use effectively, so do certain benefits. The last benefit of Rebecca Chambers, hyperfocus, is easily her most complicated. It’s all about efficiency and skill, both of which can be a struggle for new players. Getting a great skill test while repairing or healing grants hyperfocus one token, up to a maximum of six tokens. For each token, the following stackable effects apply:

  • 4% increase in Skill Check Trigger odds.

  • 4% increase in skill check rotational speeds.

  • 30% increase in the Skill Check Bonus progression.

In short, this means that skills tests will become more frequent and more difficult to complete, but players who can consistently complete them will be rewarded with significant bonuses to their generator’s repair speed. Unfortunately, if the player passes a good skill test (instead of a great one), fails a skill test, or is interrupted, hyperfocus loses all tokens. This caveat means that the benefits of this benefit are weak and could be lost at any time.

2 Adept Rebecca Chambers

The goal of many players when receiving a new character is to try and complete their Adept feat, which requires you to escape a trial with that character while only using the character’s three unique perks. While this challenge is much easier to complete than Killers’ Adept feats, it still requires a lot of skill and knowledge of how to use the Survivor’s benefits together unless the Survivor intends to simply hide the entire match.

As with most Adept feats, getting Rebecca Chambers’ Adept feat is easiest in a Survive with Friends (SWF). Solo queue in Dead in daylight can be punitive at the best of times, and given that two of Chambers’ benefits directly benefit other survivors rather than themselves, she is most effective when she is part of a team with coordinated benefits. In solo queue, that’s almost impossible to achieve.

Because Rebecca Chambers can improve the action speed of others using Better than new, she should take the lead in healings whenever possible. The player can also link this advantage to reassurance by getting close enough to the Survivor to pause their hook timer, waiting for an opportunity to unhook, then rescuing and healing the Survivor to gain the benefits of Better than new. Alternatively, players who are more confident in their ability to perform skill checks than in their ability to dodge the killer can find and use an isolated generator hyperfocus to finish it as soon as possible.

1 Other build options

Players who want to lean into the role of Rebecca Chambers as a combat medic have some great options at their disposal. The nerve to Self-care has made healing others more important than ever, so Botany knowledge is a great option for speeding up healing and increasing the efficiency of Med-Kits.

Bean: Circle of Healing remains a phenomenal advantage of Boon, and the AoE healing effect can change the whole process in favor of the survivors, especially if the player can create the Bean in a remote area that is less likely to disturb the Killer. Add a Med-Kit to the mix and the player has the ingredients for a fantastic healing build.
