Several celebrated Marvel video games currently exist, including: Guardians of the Universe and Marvel’sSpider Man. For gamers and Marvel fans, however, things look even rosier. Several projects have been announced that are in development, including a wide variety of Marvel content.

7 Marvel World of Heroes brings superhero action to life

Marvel joins franchises like pokemon and Jurassic World when releasing an AR game. Marvel World of Heroes is an upcoming mobile game developed by Niantic, and it is designed as a social and interactive experience. By letting players create their own superhero, the game invites them to fight the rogue states in their daily lives.

Little is known about the game other than the core concept. Marvel World of Heroes promises to give players a sense of true heroism as they play, and let them explore different versions of the Marvel universe. Core mechanics, price, and even a release date are all yet to be announced, but it’s claiming a 2023 release.

6 Midnight Suns is a tactical card-based RPG

Marvel’s Midnight Sun is one of the most anticipated Marvel games to be released soon. It is being developed by Firaxis, the company behind the XCOM and Civilization strategy games. midnight Sun scales down slightly and focuses on teams of three superheroes battling through waves of enemies. The game is slated to release on PCs in December 2022, with consoles getting a later release.

midnight Sun focuses more on the darker and more magical side of Marvel. It features Lilith as the main villain and includes heroes like Blade, Doctor Strange, and Ghost Rider. Using cards instead of dice to produce the random effects, players must improve their heroes’ abilities through research, deck building, and social interaction. They soon unleash their enhanced heroes in tactical turn-based combat.

5 Insomniac’s Spider-Man game is getting a sequel

Few superhero games have made such an impact as Marvel’s Spider Man for the PS4. Released in 2019, the game quickly became loved for its heartfelt story, thrilling open-world gameplay, and feel of a Spider-Man comic book brought to life on game consoles.

Spider Man got a spin-off in the form of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. A third game is now in development. Marvel’s Spider Man 2 is slated for a 2023 release, and while the story hasn’t been confirmed, teasers indicate it will feature an ancient Spider-Man nemesis, Venom.

4 Marvel SNAP is a more traditional head-to-head card game

The online card game market is doing well for itself. Games like hearthstone and Magic: The Collector’s Arena have dedicated player bases. Marvel SNAP is Marvel’s attempt to enter the market. It promises to play like a more conventional card battle game, rather than the card-based tactical gameplay of midnight Sun.

Marvel SNAP let players build a team from combinations of many of their favorite heroes. It claims to be a fast-paced card game designed to go faster than many of its contemporaries. Marvel SNAP is currently out in select territories and will be released worldwide on October 18, 2022 for iOS and Android.

3 An Iron Man game has been confirmed

Iron Man has achieved a huge rise in status thanks to his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He served as one of the main characters of the MCU’s Infinity Saga and endured one of its most radical character arcs. However, many of his video games were disappointing or downright bad.

After much speculation, EA has confirmed that an Iron Man game is in development by Motive Studio. The Iron Man game will tell an original story, not obligated to the comic books or the MCU. Billed as the first collaboration of many between Marvel and EA, the release date is unknown, but will likely be several years away.

2 Insomniac is also making a Wolverine game

Insomniac Games got their choice of heroes when they made Marvel’s Spider-Man. They have since announced that they will be taking on one of Marvel’s most popular characters: Wolverine. The game is exclusive to PS5 and has not been given a release date.

Details for Marvel’s Wolverine remain scarce. It will focus on Wolverine but share continuity with Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man spell. Other than that, it is not known how similar it will be to the Spider Man games, or how prominent a role other X-Men will play in the game’s story.

1 A self-titled WWII game featuring Captain America and Black Panther

Most upcoming Marvel video games take place in the present, according to the MCU’s cues. However, an upcoming game from Skydance Media plans to look back at an older age for the Marvel Universe. The game has no title and little is known about it other than the basic concept. It will focus on Captain America and Black Panther, who team up in World War II to fight HYDRA.

In the game, King Azzuri will play the Black Panther, instead of the King T’Challa most known to fans. In addition to the two central characters, it also gives players the chance to play as Wakandan spy, Nanali and Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones. Based on the cast and setting, it seems likely that the game will take some inspiration from the Flags of your fathers storyline.
