Here are 5 games to watch in Coastal Alabama for week 7 of the high school football season.

The skinny: TR Miller has won the last two games in the series in shutout fashion – 14-0 and 35-0. The Tigers lead the overall series 10-4. … Both teams were open last week. Bayside ended its four-game season opening win at home by Jackson two weeks ago. TR Miller has won three straight games since a no-region loss in Class 5A No. 1 UMS-Wright in Week 2. … Bayside has five players rushing over 100 yards, led by Damien Tate (185 yards, 3 TDs) and Tait Moore (205 yards, 4 TDs). Joey Jones is 3 or 4 on FG attempts and has a 44 yard punt average. Brennen Yamane leads the defense with 27 tackles. Teague Broadhead has 21 tackles and 2 sacks. Coach Phil Lazenby is two wins away from 200 (198-104 in 26 years). … TR Miller coach Brent Hubbert is a total of 215-53 in 22 years of coaching. The Tigers have rushed 585 yards in their last two games. Myles Johnson has 445 yards and 6 TDs on 76 attempts, while DJ Fountain has 274 yards and 5 TDs on 57 carries. QB Nathan Commander passed for 560 yards and 5 TDs. Johnson also leads the team in tackles with 33.

FAITH ACADEMY (4-1) AT VIGOR (3-2)

Time/location: 7 p.m. Friday, CA Douglas Field, Theodore

Last week: Faith Academy defeated St. Paul’s 34-7; Vigor was inactive

Region records: Faith Academy is 3-1 in Class 5A, Region 1; Force is 2-2

In the air: AFTER

The skinny: This Vigor home game is played at Theodore. It’s the start of a four-game road swing for the Rams. Vigor has won 11 of the 14 encounters between the two teams, including nine of the last 11. The Wolves won 21-19 a year ago en route to the Class 4A state title. … Faith QB Jarrett Daughtry has completed 26 of his last 27 passes. In last week’s win over St. Paul’s, he was 15-of-16 for 246 yards and 3 TDs. Tynean Goodwill, Dorian Smith and Tyrell Dotson all had TD receptions. Junior Carson Ratliff led the defense with 12 tackles, 4 assists and 2 TFL. Jaeden Simmons had 10 tackles, 3 assists and a forced fumble. … Vigor hasn’t played since a 10-7 defeat to No. 1 UMS-Wright on September 16. With UMS unbeaten in the region and three other teams with just one loss, this is a huge game for the Wolves, who can’t afford a third loss so early. The Vigor defense gives up only 7.4 points per game on average. Linebacker Brandon Purifoy leads the way with 46 tackles, 10 TFL, a sack and an interception. UAB commit and reigning 4A Lineman of the Year Michael Towner has 44 tackles, 11 TFL, 8.5 sacks and 19 QB hurries, while Alcorn State commit Jermaine Holcombe Jr. 3 interceptions from its security position. RB Jacori Barnes (65 carries, 294 yards, 3 TDs) was the team’s best offensive threat. Jerrian Graham has 2 receiving TDs.

FOLEY (2-3) AT FAIRHOPE (5-0)

Time/location: Friday 7pm, Fairhope Municipal Stadium

Last week: Foley lost to Saraland 49-21; Fairhop was inactive

Region records: Foley is 1-1 in Class 7A, Region 1; Defending champion Fairhope is at 2-0

The skinny: Foley leads the overall series 52-43-4, but Fairhope has won the last five meetings with an average score of 29-12. … The Lions have lost two games in a row this season, taking 56 points to Baker and 49 to Saraland. They are better than 181-133 in five games. Senior QB Reece Tynes completed 89 of 151 passes for 986 yards and 11 TDs. He was intercepted 4 times. Kolton Nero (51 carries, 364 yards, 3 TDs) is the leading rusher. Alabama junior WR commit Perry Thompson (41 receptions, 540 yards, 7 TDs) and senior Harrison Knight (26 receptions, 209 yards, 3 TDs) are the main receivers. AJ Prim (34 tackles, 4 sacks, 7 TFL) and Isaac Gamez (41 tackles) lead the defense. … Fairhope scores an average of 41.6 points per game and allows 29.8. The offensive catalyst is QB Caden Creel, already a two-time Coastal Alabama Player of the Week in 2022. The senior has completed 78 of 124 passes for 1,130 yards and 7 TDs. He also rushed for 482 yards and 5 TDs. He averages 322 yards of total offense per game. Qualin McCants has rushed 406 yards and 12 TDs on 74 carries. Senior Ben Moseley (32 receptions, 437 yards, 2 TDs) is the lead receiver. … Fairhope coach Tim Carter is one win away from number 150 for his career.

GOLF SHORES (5-1) AT WILLIAMSON (5-1)

Time/location: Friday 7pm, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile

Last week: Gulf Shores defeated Murphy 35-14; Williamson defeated Blount 12-6

Region records: Both teams are 3-1 in Class 5A, Region 1

The skinny: Williamson leads the overall series 4-2. The last meeting was in 2015 when the Lions won 28-20. The Dolphins have scored 209 points and racked up 126 points this season. Williamson, on the other hand, has only scored 113 points, but only 32 points. The Lions knocked out three opponents and held two others to just six points each. … Gulf Shores senior QB Brendon Byrd completed 65 percent of his passes for 954 yards and 8 TDs. He also rushed for 271 yards and a TD. Junior Ronnie Royal has rushed 481 yards and 11 TDs and caught 33 passes for 509 yards and 6 TDs. JR Gardner has rushed 431 yards and 9 TDs on 72 carries. … Williamson QB Jeremy Williams, a converted defensive end, threw 717 yards and 6 TDs. He is also rushed for 5 TDs. Jeremiah Owens (38 receptions, 386 yards, 3 TDs) is the leading receiver. Darryon Pough has 4 hasty touchdowns. Ellis McGaskin, an 8th grader, is slated to start at RB this week. Orin Wilson Jr. leads the Lions’ miserly defense in tackles with 68. Senior Tyrek Gaines has 64 and sophomore Yusef Clark has 61.

ORANGE BEACH (4-1) AT ST. MICHAEL (3-3)

Time/location: Thursday 7pm, Fairhope Municipal Stadium

Last week: Orange Beach defeated McIntosh 42-14; St. Michael lost to McGill-Toolen 27-7

Region records: Both teams are 2-1 in Class 4A, Region 1

The skinny: Orange Beach and St. Michael have never played. … The Makos recovered from their only loss of the year with a convincing win over McIntosh last week. Jamey DuBose is 141-41 overall in 15 years as a head coach with two state titles in Prattville and one in Central-Phenix City. … The seven points St. Michael scored against McGill-Toolen last week were the lowest in Philip Rivers’ tenure as head coach. QB Josh Murphy is 75-of-125 for 1,217 yards and 9 TDs. He was intercepted 4 times. Backup QB Moe Faiupu is 6-of-9 passing 75 yards. He also rushed for 135 yards and 2 TDs and caught 13 passes for 150 yards and 2 TDs. Braylan Green has 33 receptions for 539 yards and 3 TDs. Ezra Sexton has rushed 430 yards and 6 TDs on 89 carries. He also has 23 receptions for 490 yards and 4 TDs. The defense is led by Clay Barr (58 tackles, 4 sacks, 11 TFL) and Tyler Cella (60 tackles, 2 TFL). … Orange Beach QB Cash Turner completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 638 yards and 7 TDs. The Makos’ main receivers are St. Paul’s transfer John Wallace Holladay (16 receptions, 257 yards, 3 TDs) and Will Reddell (19 receptions, 304 yards, 3 TDs). UAB commit Chris Pearson has 4 hasty TDs and leads the team in tackles with 20.5. Tre Bryant has 19.5 tackles.
