Subnautics is a game full of options and is notable as a survival game where almost no creature ever needs to be fought or killed if the player chooses not to. However, there are ways to take on the gigantic creatures that inhabit the oceans of the alien planet on which the player crashes.

From the obvious to the utterly insane, the methods of tackling and ending a mower are many.

5 Shrimp grabber/gripping arms

While the shrimp suit is a kind of safety net against the gigantic creatures that roam the world of Subnautics, it can only take two or three hits from a reaper before being destroyed. Fortunately, during reaper battles, the creature will usually attack and then wander off for a while, giving players a chance to repair the suit in between charges. There are many possible attachments for the shrimp suit, but the most common combination for fighting is a drill arm and a grab arm.

This combination allows players to cling to a reaper leviathan and not let it escape, offering the ability to kill it much faster than in a long drawn-out battle with many reaper attacks. The drill arm is a hugely useful tool for dealing damage to these massive creatures. Continuously drilling into the creature while it is stuck with the grappling arm is a hugely effective technique and will yield results, quickly eliminating reapers and even the larger creatures of the leviathan class.

4 Stasis rifle/thermo-blade

At first glance, this method seems like the most insane of all the ways to fight a mower. However, it is one of the safer and more certain ways to end one. The stasis rifle is a weapon that can freeze in-game objects in place for up to thirty seconds, and the thermo-blade is one of the few items that can actually deal damage to an opponent.

While there’s very little security involved in the process, using the stasis rifle on a leviathan with a charging reaper can keep the creature in place while the player goes down and attacks with the thermo blade. Cutting out the underbelly may not feel as effective as attacking in a shrimp suit, but it’s easy once the player has mastered the technique of holding the mower in place indefinitely.

When the stasis gunshot bell starts to flicker, it’s time to stop cutting and fire another shot with the gun to keep the reaper in place. If you use a regular blade to cut it will be a slow process but with a thermo blade the mower will be dead in a few minutes. An important note with this technique is to carry medical kits as it takes two strikes to kill the player, even unprotected, and to go up at some point for air or some other means of escape. breath at hand.

3 Shrimp pack Torpedoes

Shrimp suits have other attachments that provide different means to combat and kill a reaper. However, it can be more dangerous and messy than using grab and drill arms. Subnautics does not offer traditional missiles or torpedoes, but does allow players to create gas torpedoes. These will explode on impact, releasing powerful gas vapors that can kill even a reaper leviathan. However, each arm in a shrimp suit can hold a charge of six gas torpedoes, and even at maximum damage, each torpedo can hit a target for about 500-550 damage.

Even then, reapers are notorious for not being able to stay still unless hit by a stasis rifle. Players can try to get a reaper close and then make it stasis rifle before stepping back into their shrimp suit to fire all their torpedoes before the reaper escapes the gunshot. This can definitely kill a reaper, which has 5000 health and can be eliminated by taking the full damage of 10 torpedo clouds. With a total of 12 torpedoes in the payload, it’s likely it would die, but unlikely if the reaper is allowed to move during the attack.

2 Sea Moth Torpedoes

If players want a real challenge, it’s possible to kill a reaper with a Seamoth. The fast vehicles seem great in fast underwater travel, but it’s still hard to dodge a charging reaper in one and a Seamoth can’t take more than a few reaper attacks before exploding. Fortunately, players can also attach a torpedo system to the Seamoth, which will damage a mower.

However, the Seamoth torpedo system takes a maximum of 6 torpedoes. It is possible to turn all four Seamoth attachments into a torpedo system for a total of 24 torpedoes, but this makes the Seamoth extremely vulnerable to attack. Fired at the right moment quickly, this large set of torpedoes can kill a mower, but the Seamoth is definitely a fragile tool to rely on in such a fight.

1 The Cyclops Kicks

And then there’s the downright insane method. The Cyclops is usually more of a big target for reapers to attack than a tool for their destruction. Decoys to escape reapers replace the ability to fire missiles at them, but the cyclops can kill a reaper.

The Cyclops deals damage Subnautics when it hits creatures in the water. This can cause smaller creatures to be accidentally killed when caught in the path of such a large vehicle. However, a mower will also take some of the damage if the Cyclops hits it. Usually this doesn’t matter as the Cyclops will take a lot more damage, but with a shield generator on the Cyclops activated just before the reaper strikes, the reaper will still take damage but the Cyclops won’t.

Shields consume a tremendous amount of energy and for this method to succeed, it is almost necessary to use ion-force cells instead of regular cells. Still, players will have to take out the shield between the reaper charges to find success. Going into a reaper like this at high speed for several minutes can be deadly, but the method is extremely dangerous as a Cyclops is difficult to replace.
