A highly anticipated 2022 TIFF movie, the upcoming A24 movie The whale looks emotionally, difficult and culturally important. Brendan Fraser plays a man named Charlie who weighs 600 pounds and has been in a lot of pain. He starts communicating again with his high school daughter, who is played by Weird stuff star Sadie Sink.

Emotional/binge eating disorder is incredibly important, but not discussed as much as anorexia, bulimia and orthorexia, and it certainly deserves attention. Movie fans are eagerly awaiting this movie, directed by Darren Aronofsky and adapted from the play by Samuel D. Hunter. A24 does not shy away from serious discussions and The whale is sure to make for some interesting and much-needed conversations.

There are many great female-led A24 horror movies out there and the coming X precursor Pearl will certainly make a big impression. Of the Pearl trailer, horror fans can see how Mia Goth’s character gets her started.

Although Pearl appears to be a sweet and religious young woman, while running a boarding house for soldiers, she dreams of murder, which is certainly not what anyone who knows her would expect. Themes of beauty, dreams and aging are still present in the prequel as they were in the first film and the audience learns that Pearl wanted to become a famous actress. When her dreams slipped away from her, she decided to take her frustrations out on people in a horrible way. X is so impressive that there are certainly high hopes for the prequel which is sure to be just as special and well done.

God’s creature is another upcoming A24 movie and it will also be released in September 2022. Aisling Franciosi, Paul Mescal and Emily Watson star in the film, an emotional family drama.

The film has a great setting as a mother and son live in a fishing village and when she tells a huge lie when he is accused of rape, it has a huge impact on them and everyone they know. Watson, who plays the mother, explained that Deadline.com in an interview: “I think there is also a very real problem, which is also very special in Ireland, which is that it is a thing. Mothers give their sons alibis for sex crimes, and they are believed. And there are real stories in Ireland from towns or cities where people have been accused of rape and the whole community is closing in on them and banishing the woman, so it’s a very oppressive, real-life thing.”

The inspection will make a big splash at the 2022 Toronto International FIlm Festival and will premiere for the first time. Directed by Elegance Bratton, the film stars Gabrielle Union, Bokeem Woodbine, Aubrey Joseph, Andrew Kai, Eman Esfandi Nicholas Logan, Aaron Dominguez, McCaul Lombardi, Raul Castillo and Jeremy Pope.

The story follows Ellis French who joins the Marine Corps and when he starts a boot camp on a South Carolina island, his sexuality becomes an issue. The subject is important and dark.

There is no release date for sharper, but according to the film’s IMDb page, it will be released sometime in 2022. Several big names are associated with the film, as John Lithgow, Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan all play important roles. The description on the film’s IMDb page reads: “A con man takes on Manhattan’s billionaires.” Benjamin Caron directed the film.

There are many great TV shows on AppleTV and the A24 movie sharper will be available on the streaming service. Deadline.com reported on the casting of Moore and Stan in July 2021 and it will be great to see Stan in a new role as the actor impressed horror fans with the unique horror film Fresh earlier this year.
