The Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts series is one of the most recognisable, iconic video game weapons of all time. While the Kingdom Key, Sora’s default weapon, is a classic, there are many other keyblades across the series that stand out for their design, attack capabilities, and personality.
From whimsical Disney themes to epic originals, there’s no shortage of variety between keyblade designs. There is one for everyone. Ever wondered which keyblade could be your default weapon? Your zodiac sign could be key, pun absolutely intended. So get aboard your Gummi Ship and let’s go to the stars to find the answer!
12 Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Lady Luck
In Kingdom Hearts I and other Kingdom Hearts games, the Lady Luck Keyblade can be found in Wonderland. It emphasizes magic and summoning power, but also has a strong physical attack. The whimsical world of origin matches the imaginative and carefree nature of Aquarius, making Lady Luck a suitable weapon for them.
Its bright pink color sets it apart from other keyblades and gives it a unique visual appeal, perfect for Aquarius’ desire to stand out from the crowd.
11 Pisces (February 19-March 20): Oathkeeper
The name of the Oathkeeper Keyblade alone is enough to appeal to Pisces, who value loyalty, defend their friends and honor their obligations. The Keyblade first appears in Kingdom Hearts I, given to Sora by Kairi after her rescue, and the name reflects Sora’s connection to her. Like Sora, Pisces would probably use Oathkeeper to protect their loved ones, vowing to keep them safe.
The oath-keeper’s appearance also reflects a magical quality that can be aesthetically pleasing to Pisces, who often have a mystical aura about them.
10 Aries (March 21 – April 19): Ultima Weapon
Ram is eager to take on any challenge they come across, which is why the Ultima weapon is the keyblade for them. The Ultima weapon is extremely difficult to unlock in any Kingdom Hearts game, and usually requires the highest level of item synthesis to create.
Still, it’s worth getting your hands on the Keyblade, as its attack and strength are unmatched by any other weapon. Aries’ own natural aggression pairs well with the power of the Ultima weapon, and they could use this mighty keyblade to achieve big wins.
9 Taurus (April 20-May 20): Ends of the Earth
The End of the Earth keyblade is first seen with the Lingering Will in Kingdom Hearts 2, Terra’s armor left over from the final battle in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. The design of the key blade itself suggests immobility and a rugged stubbornness. These qualities are also all reflected in the Lingering Will and Tauruses.
This makes Ends of the Earth the perfect keyblade for Tauruses, who also possess the power needed to wield this gigantic weapon. The grounded nature of the bulls would allow them to remain steadfast while wielding this powerful keyblade.
8 Gemini (May 21 – June 21): X-Blade
The X-Blade is the infamous object of Master Xehanort’s desire, but Geminis can resonate with this keyblade due to its dual nature. The X-Blade must be reforged through a clash of light and darkness, first attempted by the battle between Ventus (pure light) and Vanitas (pure darkness) in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.
The need to harmonize these two opposing sides may appeal to Geminis, symbolized by twins. Also, the mystery of the X-Blade will intrigue Geminis, who have a natural curiosity.
7 Cancer (June 22 – July 22): The Staring Eye
The Gazing Eye Keyblade is notably wielded by Master Xehanort, although its significance as a keyblade, intended to unfold the events of history over time, was only recently revealed. His function as a silent observer may appeal to Cancer’s quiet and somber temperament.
Cancers can also relate to Xehanort’s relentless passion as he pursues the arrival of Kingdom Hearts and reforges the X-Blade, using the Gazing Eye to accomplish his mission. Cancerians would wield this dark and powerful keyblade with the same drive and determination.
6 Leo (July 23 – August 22): Flame Liberator
Leos are radiant individuals with a vibrant presence, which is why the fiery aesthetic of the Flame Liberator Keyblade perfectly captures Leos’ personality. This keyblade belongs to Lea, first summoned by him in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
Lea and Leos have a few things in common beyond a similar name and a penchant for fire-themed keyblades. Both are charismatic, not afraid to speak their mind and want to be remembered. This bond with Lea further highlights that Flame Liberator is an excellent keyblade match for them. Did you remember?
5 Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Olympia
The Olympia Keyblade is a classic Disney-themed weapon first seen in Kingdom Hearts as one of the keyblades you can receive at the Olympus Coliseum. Virgos can be attracted to Olympia because of the way the keyblade is unlocked: by participating in a series of battle tournaments. Virgos value structure and would appreciate this organized, methodical approach.
Virgos also have great attention to detail, which allows them to spot enemies’ weaknesses and know the perfect moment to strike. This natural tendency works well with Olympia’s own strengths, as the keyblade is an excellent choice for landing critical hits with the right timing.
4 Libra (September 23-October 23): Stormfall
Stormfall was owned by Master Aqua before sacrificing herself to save Terra in Birth by Sleep. The keyblade’s main strength lies in its balanced stats on strength, magic, range, and critical hit rate. Libras, as champions and seekers of balance, would love to have the evenly spaced abilities of this keyblade.
Libras are also known for their desire for harmony and loyal friendship, traits they also have in common with Stormfall’s original wielder, Aqua.
3 Scorpio (October 24, November 21): Road to the Dawn
The Way to the Dawn keyblade belongs to Riku, who first summoned it in Kingdom Hearts 2. Its name and appearance reflect Riku’s struggle to find peace with the light and dark at war. Scorpios, with their own instinctive cunning and ingenuity, would take a similar approach, seeking to harness the powers of light as well as darkness. This makes Way to the Dawn a good choice for Scorpios.
Riku’s ambition has made him surrender to the darkness, but after the events of Kingdom Hearts, he does everything he can to correct his mistakes. Scorpions can also relate to Riku’s journey, choices, and motivations, further cementing their connection to the Keyblade Way to the Dawn.
2 Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Wayward Wind
Sagittarians are free spirits who find joy in embarking on spontaneous adventures. They are lighthearted and draw others to them with their unquenchable optimism. For those reasons, the Wayward Wind Keyblade, Ventus’ weapon featured in Birth By Sleep, is a good match for them.
The name “Wayward Wind” reflects the natural desire of Sagittarius to wander and go wherever the wind takes them. Wayward Wind is also one of the few keyblades known to turn into a Keyblade Glider, a vehicle that Archers would absolutely have. explosion to drive.
1 Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): Oblivion
Oblivion is the best keyblade for Capricorns, whose stoic nature and inner drive would allow them to wield this powerful weapon extremely well. Capricorns are also fairly reserved and withdrawn, which can draw them to Oblivion’s simple, dark design.
Oblivion, a staple of the keyblade arsenal since the beginning, is usually received late in the story and has one of the strongest stats. Waiting until near the end of a game to receive the keyblade wouldn’t be a problem for Capricorns, who are patient individuals.
