CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – With the 2022 Virginia football season kicking off next weekend, Cavalier fans can expect some new game day experiences and upgrades when they visit Scott Stadium. Many of these initiatives are the result of fan input and surveys from the 2021 season.

Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets for all games are available for purchase at UVATix.com.

Wahoo Walk
The Wahoo Walk is back. Approximately 2.5 hours before each home game, the UVA Football team is dropped off at the southeast corner entrance of Scott Stadium off Whitehead Road. Fans are encouraged to attend and cheer on the Hoos as they enter Scott Stadium.

Fan Fest
The Cavalier Fan Fest returns to the Aquatics and Fitness Center this year. The Fan Fest opens 2.5 hours before the match and closes 30 minutes before kick-off. It includes balloon artists, face painting station, photo zone, color zone, cornhole and more. Admission is free.

New Cavalier on horseback
When Virginia takes to the field this season, she will be led by a new Cavalier on horseback. Julie Caruccio takes on the role following the retirement of longtime Cavalier rider Kim Kirschnick, who has held these duties for 21 years. Read more about Julie’s story here.

Ambassadors for mobile tickets
In an effort to accommodate all attendees at Scott Stadium, mobile ticket ambassadors will be stationed outside all gates to answer questions and assist with last-minute ticketing issues before scanning at the gate.

New 4th quarter tradition
Early this year, UVA Football will have a prominent alum lead the stadium in a “GO HOOS” chant with a hype video to energize the stadium to kick off the 4th quarter.

Sing the good old song
Head Coach Tony Elliott and the team gather in front of the student section and sing the Good Old Song after every game. Fans are encouraged to stay and join the team in this new game day tradition.

Pergola lighting
The iconic pergola at the open end of the stadium has been given a new look this year. Custom LED lights have been installed to illuminate Scott Stadium for nighttime games in amber and blue.

Cavman’s crew
Junior fans of Orange and Blue are encouraged to join Cavman’s Crew. Membership is $25 per year and members receive a Cavman’s Crew All-Star Kit. As a membership benefit, crew members get free entry to select home events throughout the academic year, including two tickets to the ODU game on September 17. Birthday/Anniversary Messages
Fans celebrating a special occasion at Scott Stadium can take it to the next level by heading to HooVision. New this year: fans can purchase board time to share with tens of thousands of Cavalier believers. click here for more details.

Vet Tix
Virginia is proud to honor and welcome veterans of our armed forces and thank them for their services. Fans unable to attend the games at Scott Stadium can donate their tickets to VetTix and treat a veteran to the game. Information on how to participate will follow shortly.

Extensive alcohol options
UVA is offering additional alcohol outlets this year. For all lower grandstand options, fans will experience a grab-n-go option designed to increase efficiency. In addition, alcohol options have been increased, including the Wahoowa Pale Ale, Cavalier Lager, Hoo Rah Ray IPA, and Virginia Crush.

Loyalty Program for Fans
Fans who attend all seven home games this season will receive a personalized gift courtesy of UVA Athletics during the game in Coastal Carolina on Nov. 19. Qualifying fans will receive an email the week of the competition with distribution information.

Rally Towel Games
Twice this season, UVA will hand out 25,000 rally towels to improve the atmosphere of race day. Those games include the September 3 All Orange game against Richmond to kick off the Tony Elliott era and the November 12 game against Pitt on Heroes Appreciation Day.

Live Look Ins
HooVision will provide live views of other key matches in the ACC and the country, allowing fans to follow the action and peak performances in the college football landscape. Enhanced fans will also be featured on the Scott Stadium video boards.

Giant inflatable cavman
The latest visual addition to the Carl Smith Center is a giant inflatable Cavman. Cavman is 25 feet tall and is a must for pre-game photo opportunities. Follow @VirginiaSports on Twitter for matchday locations of UVA’s towering mascot.

WiFi upgrades
Scott Stadium is getting an enhanced Wi-Fi service from TING this year to provide customers with high-speed Internet access. In addition, the Wi-Fi service has been extended to stadium gates to help fans access their mobile tickets.

New displays and graphics
Fans walking down the hall this season will notice several areas with revamped branding and visuals. The displays in the concourse and at the ends of the stadium on the hill are intended to honor the 4th Side.

Slight improvements
New lighting systems have been installed on the perimeter of Scott Stadium to help fans provide more lighting and reduce noise caused by previous mobile lighting solutions.

Fan assistant
The Fan Assist program is available on match day to all customers with a non-emergency problem. Add the Fan Assist number (226786) to your phone’s contacts prior to your attendance and text HOOS and your location for a quick response on game days.

Stadium hosts are back
A number of familiar faces will return to host the stadium this season with lots of new programming and features planned. Jamar Hicks will serve as the in-game host and Ahmad Hawkins will return as the in-game analyst.

Student-athlete video board content
More content will be featured on HooVision to demonstrate the value Virginia Athletics places on its commitment to student-athlete development and to showcase the Cavaliers’ stories and interests.

DJ Jealousy
Scott Stadium welcomes DJ Jealousy to this year’s game day experience. Highly regarded and versatile DJ Jealousy has a wide range of event experience, including DJing for the Washington Commanders and Washington Wizards. Expect a lively musical experience from Rock Scott thanks to this talented entertainer.

Great energy moments
To enhance “Big Energy Moments” — defensive third downs, kickoffs, touchdowns, or key sequences throughout the game — the stadium’s audio and visual elements will focus on providing noise cues to generate enhanced home advantage.

Customer-oriented staff must increase
Through its partnerships with RMC and Aramark, UVA has reviewed fan feedback from the 2021 season and identified areas of concern that need to be changed. These groups have worked off-season to develop a staffing plan to better serve customers at Scott Stadium this season.

Come early, be loud
As UVA Football builds The Model Program, the Cavalier believers are a critical part of the program’s success. All fans are encouraged to make their way to the stadium 40 minutes before the kick-off of each match to be seated in time for the pregame spirit show and team run. All fans are encouraged to be loud and support our student athletes throughout the duration of each game as we strive to make Scott Stadium the best home field advantage in the ACC.
