Steam Deck brings the Steam games and features you love in a powerful and convenient form factor that you can take anywhere.
Steam Deck is also an open PC, with the ability to install software or connect to hardware, with your Steam library available as soon as you turn on your Deck. Once you’re logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam library will appear just like any other PC. You can find your collections and favorites – right where you left them.
The all-new home screen is everything you love about Steam in one place. Home is where you’ll find all the things you need: dive back into a game, whether you’re playing it on Steam Deck or on your PC, see what’s new in your library and store, and what your friends are up to to be.
On Steam Deck, your games run on a different operating system than your desktop PC. It is a new version of SteamOS, built with Steam Deck in mind and optimized for a portable gaming experience. It comes with Proton, a compatibility layer that allows you to run your games without the developers having to port. For Deck, we greatly improve Proton’s game compatibility and support for anti-cheat solutions by working directly with the vendors.
“We hope gamers in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan will agree that the performance and design of the Steam Deck make it a great way to play the games they know and love” , said Gabe Newell, President and CEO of Valve.

The world’s most powerful gaming handheld, which is also a full-fledged PC, first arrived in North America and parts of Europe in February to garner rave reviews and with hundreds of compatible single and multiplayer games.
