Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered hit the PC shelves recently and players have more fun than ever thanks to multiple mods. As Sony’s second-highest-performing PC launch to date (just behind God of War, which also had a ton of great mods), we’re sure some fans of that large demographic will want to spice things up on PC with the help from a few mods. Whether it swings like other characters, improves gameplay, or improves basic quality, the modding community has already produced a large number of mods that are sure to make web-slinging in Manhattan even more fun. That said, there are also a lot of duds and searching for the best can get tiresome. So, to help you sort through the clutter from the previous ones, here are some of the best and funniest mods on Spider-Man PC.

Useful Mods

When you hear the word “mod” players would stereotypically associate it with the most annoying and wacky content they could think of. However, there are modders who create specific mods to make the game feel a little different, without deviating from how the game should be played.

No HUD mode (by Mixerced) – Video games usually have HUDs (heads-up display) to help players visually with statistics and other important details. In a wonderful open world action adventure game like Spider-Man, some players may want to play the game with a cinematic feel. No HUD mod allows players to remove the contours of enemies and the entire HUD during gameplay. This adds a bit of a cinematic feel swinging around like your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Spider-Man Mo2 Plugin (by R3z Shark) – Mods are without a doubt a great way to spice up games. However, installing mods in a game can be quite tricky and can potentially compromise the game’s data. That said, Spider-Man Mo2 Plugin is a mod that automatically updates installed Spider-Man mods and also helps players upload mods in the game’s files. Apart from these features, it also serves as an unofficial mod loader for Spider-Man Remastered PC.

Skin Redesign Mods

It’s no secret that there is an existing multiverse in the world of superheroes. Spider-Man is no different and we’ve seen all of his costumes made up of comic books, movies, and video games. Now let’s take a look at the best skin redesign mods that make our favorite web swinger look even more awesome.

Symbiote black suit (by jedijosh920) – Probably the one mod on this list that got the most polished and downloaded. In short, jedijosh920’s masterpiece replaces Dr. Otto’s design of the Advanced Suit by a Symbiote version. What makes this mod more interesting is the fact that the modder has added a Spider-Man 3 reference. Having the Symbiote Black Suit mod also changes Peter Parker’s outfit into the iconic suit and ties.

Spider-Man 3 black suit (by CSD59ALL) – If you like the classics and are a big fan of the symbiote suit then this mod is for you. Like the Symbiote Black Suit mod, this mod has been recolored the Raimi Suit, making it look exactly like the suit in the original movie trilogy. Now you can go all out with Bully Maguire with both Advanced and Raimi Suit mods activated.

Black Iron Spider (by tyng) – I’m pretty sure you see a pattern on this list where our 3rd pick is another black version of the suit. But how can you resist a classic Iron Spider Suit comic strip design? The Black Iron Spider mod pays tribute to Ceres Goldstein who redesigned the iron suit when Peter Parker joined the Secret Avengers in the comics.

Scarlet Spider II (cyan) (by BatuTH) – In my opinion, one of the most striking and intimidating spider suits is the Scarlet Spider II suit. The reason is that most of Spider-Man’s suit is bright red, including his eyes. It somehow gives the friendly neighborhood hero a more menacing look that could potentially scare the little kids off. However, thanks to this recolor mod, changing the Scarlet color to Cyan Spider-Man gives a more chilled out vibe.

Funniest Spider-Man PC Mods

As we mentioned a while ago, mods can typically get crazy and hilarious in nature. Like any modded game, Spider-Man PC also has one of the dumbest mods that can brighten one’s day.

Mary Jane (by Robin) – It’s no secret that Mary Jane Watson eventually became Spinneret in the comics to help her husband Peter Parker fight crime. This mod of Robin allows players to meander through New York City as Mary Jane in her in-game outfit. What makes this mod hilarious is the fact that none of her facial expressions change and her movements look very awkward in her casual clothes. Imagine encountering a web-slinging girl in her jeans paired with an emotionless expression on her face heading your way. It’s best not to get on her bad side.

Stan Lee (by tiffsomniac) – Allow me to tell a fictional origin story of the late great Stan Lee. Imagine that you are in possession of the Time Stone to travel back before Stan Lee’s passing. The only way to keep him alive is to give him supernatural powers. You then have Stan get bitten by a radioactive spider and then, poof, he becomes Spider-Man. With that origin story in mind, the Stan Lee mod is now the depiction of his current life had he not died. It is really cool mod to play as the creator of our favorite superhero. I’m pretty sure the man himself would love to get into action in one of the most popular video games. RIP Stan Lee.

Peter Parker in a lab coat (by tiffsomniac) – Another entry from tiffsomniac, this is a true definition of “I’m late for work”. Why exactly? If you are late, you forget to do many things in your daily routine before you leave for your day job. Imagine being in Peter Parker’s shoes, just meandering through the streets of New York and suddenly realizing you’re not in the right gear. Undoubtedly an important facepalm moment and the situation just makes you want to scratch your head.

King Pin (by Robin) – Remember that time Captain America faced himself in Avengers Endgame? Well, players can relive a similar moment to Kingpin in Spider-Man PC. One of Spider-Man’s enemies earlier in the game is Kingpin. Thanks to the Kingpin mod, players can now watch Wilson Grant Fisk hilariously beat himself with spin powers. Also, there’s that big smile of his during the cutscenes that makes things all the more entertaining, which we certainly can’t get enough of – what? You rarely see Fisk smiling! Watch him go.

Those are our picks for by far the best and funniest Spider-Man PC mods. Of course, players always have the option to explore other mods that best suit their interests. Just switch to Nexus by clicking here. However, be extra careful when downloading these mods, you never know which mod may damage your game or your save file. Also be extra careful when mixing and matching these mods as they can conflict with each other which can also lead to a broken game or a save. Make sure to keep plenty of backups around and always install mods one at a time to make troubleshooting easier or else you could get caught up in a web of files.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is now available on PC, as well as PS4 and PS5 (although there are no mods on consoles!)
