The first six months of 2022 are booked lots of fun things about video games. We had big hits like Horizon Forbidden West or Gran Turismo 7, surprises like The Quarry or TNMT Shredder’s Revenge, not to mention Elden Ring who left his mark on the media.
We are now in the second half of 2022 and many more titles await us. The period from the beginning of the school year to December is particularly prosperous for video games. In this file, we’ve selected ten titles to watch this year. The goal is to highlight the games that will inevitably be talked about when they’re released, the ones that will shape our year-end.
Note that there is no specific classification for this list. The first isn’t necessarily the most anticipated, nor is it the earliest to be released. This is just a selection of top titles to keep an eye on. We focused on games for the general public, even if independent titles are necessarily worth a detour. Yourself, in the comments, do not hesitate to give us your expectations.
So, what are we going to play for the next six months?
God of War Ragnarok
Platforms: PS4, PS5
Release date: November 9, 2022
Genre: action/adventure
God of War 2018 was a real slap in the face to the industry and Santa Monica Studio is going to do it again with a sequel. Named Ragnarok, it will resume the gameplay of the previous title. We will always embody Kratos, the ancient Greek god of war wrestling with the Nordic pantheon. It is undoubtedly from one of this year’s most anticipated titles. Boy!
Hogwarts Legacy
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch
Release date: end of 2022
Genre: action/adventure
A game for Harry Potter fans. Hogwarts Legacy puts you in the shoes of a Hogwarts student. You will have to take classes, choose a house, make friends but also counter a threat that hangs over the school. Set in the 19th century, the story introduces us to yet unknown facets of the universe created by JK Rowling. The icing on the cake: it will be an open world, so it will be possible to explore every corner of the wizarding school.
The last of us part 1
Platform: PS5
Release date: September 2, 2022
Genre: action/adventure
The Last of Us is a game that featured an entire generation of players. Naughty Dog has decided to bring it up to date with a remake called Part I. Here is the graphics section that has been revised. The story remains the same, the same for the progression and the gameplay. Enough to introduce this cult title to a new audience.
Skull and Bones
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia
Release date: November 8, 2022
Genre: Adventure, Battleship
This one has been a long wait. Developed over many years, Skull and Bones finally arrives on our consoles and PC! In this game we embody a pirate who is ready to do anything to make a fortune. Sail the seas, attack other players and discover treasures to improve your dashing ship. A title whose main inspiration is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, released in 2013.
world of warcraft dragon flight
Platform: PC
Release date: end of 2022
Genre: MMORPG
World of Warcraft has been going through a rough time in recent years. After two inconclusive expansions and players constantly jumping aboard, Blizzard is playing big with the next Dragonflight expansion. An extension that rhymes with redemption?

Saints Row
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
Release date: August 23, 2022
Genre: GTA-esque
The Saints Row saga is making a comeback with a reboot! This time we are invited to place the boxon in the city of Santo Ileso. The formula seems to have changed little, and we appreciate that. The title holds all the cards to be an excellent stress reliever. A little summer surprise?
Gotham Knights
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Release date: October 25, 2022
Genre: Beat them all
Spiritual sequel to the games Arkham, Gotham Knights features four members of the bat family. Controlled by Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl or Red Hood (each with their own gameplay), it’s up to players to patrol the streets of Gotham City and put criminals behind bars. If the Arkham formula seems to be taken literally, Gotham Knights brings an important subtlety: the ability to play with multiple people! Ready to beat the bad guys with your friends?
Overwatch 2
Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch
Release date: October 4, 2022
Genre: Multiplayer Shooter
It was about time he arrived! Overwatch 2 will be released on October 4 and will do more than follow the formula of its predecessor: it will completely replace it. It will be a free-to-play that will be funded by microtransactions (for cosmetics only, Blizzard promises). As before, you will have to choose a hero with his own abilities and throw yourself headlong into battle against other players. What a dormant license to restart for too long?
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
Release date: October 28, 2022
Genre: Military FPS
Call of Duty Modern Warfare had cleverly revised the license in 2019. This year we have the sequel, soberly titled Modern Warfare 2. This is the sequel to Modern Warfare 2019, which isn’t Modern Warfare 2007, nor is this a remake of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 and… anyway, it’s complicated. In any case, we will Military FPS that doesn’t think outside the box but it will try to provide a controlled experience.
The Callisto protocol
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
Release date: December 2, 2022
Genre: horror
The creators of Dead Space return to the front of the stage with The Callisto Protocol. This time, the player plays as a prisoner who has to survive in a space prison overrun by horrible aliens. If it is indeed a new license, The Callisto protocol takes over from Dead Space : Vulnerable player, dark corridors, terrifying monsters and jumping fear galore. You will have to have a strong heart.
