god of war is a big-budget blockbuster release, but the second-highest-rated game available through PS Plus Extra is indie darling celeste. celeste is a rock-solid platformer with retro graphics and a heartwarming story. Those who just want to play until the credits will have quite a challenge, but those who decide to play 100% of the game will really put their skills to the test. celeste won numerous awards at the time of its release and is a big reason why there is so much hype in the indie space for creator Maddy Thorson’s next game, Earthblade.

Two PlayStation console exclusives available through PS Plus Extra have received a 92 rating from critics. This includes Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Endthe latest game in Naughty Dog’s movie not mapped series and the game that concludes Nathan Drake’s story. It should be noted that the version of Uncharted 4 available through a PS Plus Extra subscription is the native PS4 release, as opposed to the PS5 version released as part of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is not currently available to play through PS Plus Extra, but those willing to spend the extra money for a PS Plus Premium subscription can check out a free trial to see if it’s worth the upgrade.

The other PlayStation exclusive with a rating of 92 is Demon Souls, although the original PlayStation 3 version is not playable via PS Plus Extra. Those with PS Plus Premium in Japan can play the original PS3 release, but anyone with PS Plus Extra can try the PlayStation 5 remake instead. The Demon Souls PS5 Remake was developed by Bluepoint Games, a studio known for releasing high-quality remakes. The work on Demon Souls is no different, getting plenty of critical acclaim and widely regarded as one of the best PS5 games to date.

FromSoftware is well represented when it comes to the best PS Plus Extra games. In addition Demon Soulsfans can try too Bloodbornethe more action-oriented Soulslike released exclusively for PS4 in 2015. Bloodborne remake or remaster, although nothing has been officially announced so far. It is unclear whether a Bloodborne remake will come out someday, so those interested should check out the PS4 version via PS Plus Extra.

Bloodborne has an overall rating of 91, just like Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition and Shadow of the Colossus. Hollow Knightfor the uninitiated, has a lot in common with FromSoftware’s Souls-esque games and essentially plays like a Metroidvania-esque twist on the formula. Shadow of the Colossusmeanwhile, is a PS4 remake of the classic PS2 game, and like Demon Souls on PS5 it is also developed by Bluepoint Games.

And finally, two PS Plus Extra games have a rating of 90. One of them is Horizon Zero Dawn: Full Editionthe full-featured version of the action-RPG from Guerrilla Games with the well-received Frozen Wilderness extension. The other is Tetris effectA modern twist on the classic puzzle game with impressive graphical upgrades.

Most of these games should remain available indefinitely through PS Plus Extra as published by PlayStation, but others may be removed. New games will also be added to PS Plus Extra, so it’s possible that more games rated 90 or higher will be added to the service in the near future.
