Players eager to be at the forefront of Minecraft development can discover a major release today as Mojang Studios now releases Minecraft Preview 1.19.30.20. This build contains a number of fixes, changes and improvements in numerous categories and will be rolled out to players on every platform.
The Minecraft Preview build is further added to Minecraft 1.19 “The Wild Update” with a host of bug fixes and tweaks including vanilla parity, Spectator mode which is still in development and many more. There’s a lot to discover in this release, but it’s still a small build in the end that doesn’t include any new features or major changes.
Minecraft is in a constant state of improvement, big and small, as part of its quest to remain one of the most popular Xbox games in the world. Today Mojang Studios is testing a series of changes with Minecraft’s most committed players, but the company also recently released a new Minecraft: Bedrock Edition hotfix for players on every platform.

Features and bug fixes

- Mud Brick Slab can now be placed as a top plate via commands
Dedicated Server
- Added ‘disable-custom-skins’ server property to block untrusted skins at a server-wide level
Gameplay
- The piston extension and retraction animation is now smooth

- Mangrove, Crimson and Warped Planks can now be used to repair shields
marketplace
- The error “Unable to connect to Marketplace” is no longer read erroneously by the Text-To-Speech reader
mobs
- Fixed a bug that caused Leads to break with Allays after owner-player resized
Stability & Performance
- Fixed a bug that occasionally caused a crash when loading players into beds
User environment
- Fixed a UI bug where enchanted leather items had textured parts that didn’t show the glitter animation
- Added new disconnection errors to better highlight the disconnected area
Boundary Block
- Boundary blocks must now prevent passage at all heights
Goat
- The goat’s ram animation has been modified to slowly lower their heads when preparing to ram

- Raid bar no longer hangs after breaking beds to cancel a raid

- Fixed a bug that rarely caused the villager’s bounding box to unsync with the server while sleeping
Vanilla parity
General
- Endermen no longer get mad at creative players
- Modified the fireball entity’s collision box to match the Java edition
- The Enchanting Table now produces a sound when enchanting an item
- Amethyst blocks no longer produce sound when you jump off them
mobs
- The position of the cat’s head while sitting adapted to the Java edition
User environment
- The item stack popup animation now only plays when a new item is added to the stack
- If a villager has a name tag, it will now be displayed along with his trade level
Deep dark
- Increased Sculk Shrieker and Sculk Sensor generation speeds in Deep Dark and Ancient Cities to better match Java Edition
melon block
- Fixed the bottom texture of the melon block to match the top texture
Technical updates
Actor Traits
- Numeric actor properties (float and integer) now always clamp their values in the specified range of values
Add-ons and script engine
- `minecraft:instant_despawn` no longer affects players
Commands
- Command selector now gets the same player position as the original command player position
marketplace
- Fixed a bug where the text-to-speech feature would read the entire “My Content” page, both marked and unmarked items

- Removed use of ‘minecraft:unwalkable’ block component and added block ad group and category to the block description

- Fixed a bug where the `length` function would return undefined
- Added `lengthSquared` function — Returns the quadratic length of the vector
- Added `stackOverflow` as possible `WatchdogTerminateReason` for `beforeWatchdogTerminate` event
- `IRawMessage` — Interface object that represents a message
- `raw text: (string | IRawMessage)[]` — (optional) A list of text objects used to build a message
- `text : string` — (optional) A plain text string to display directly. Only valid when used as a sub member in a parent `rawtext` or `with` member
- `translate : string` — (optional) String representing a translation ID to translate text into the language selected by the player
- `with : (string | IRawMessage)[]` — (optional) A list of arguments to text objects used to populate values in the translated text. Ignored when `translate` is not present
- `say(string | IRawMessage)` — Used to broadcast a message to all players
- `tell(string | IRawMessage)` — Send a message to a player
- Fixed a bug where dynamic properties would not persist when using worlds hosted on Bedrock Dedicated Server or Realms
- Pack dependencies of native modules can be declared using the module name without specifying a UUID, using the `module_name` attribute. The module name corresponds to the import statement (e.g. `mojang-minecraft`)
- `mojang-gametest` module version 0.1.0 removed; packages that use ‘mojang-gametest’ specific APIs must be updated to use GameTest version 1.0.0 beta
- The `mojang-gametest` module 1.0.0-beta requires `mojang-minecraft` module 1.0.0-beta
Spectator Mode
- Endermen no longer get mad at players in Spectator Mode
- Spectator mode players will no longer be able to interact with Sculk sensors by swimming in water or lava
- Players who switch to spectator mode will release any fishhooks attached to it
- Players in spectator mode can no longer be pushed by explosions
- Powder snow no longer emits particles when spectators pass through it
- Big Dripleaf no longer tilts when touched by players in spectator mode
- Spectator mode players now keep their inventory and gear at death
- Spectators can no longer attract the attention of the mafia while holding their favorite food
- The `/testfor` command can now target spectators
- The Spectator game mode can no longer be accessed via the `/gamemode` command, only via `/gamemode` spectator
- Spectators using touch controls can no longer break boats and minecarts
- Puffer fish stop responding to nearby spectators
