Can PlayStation Studios PC port for? Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered improve an already stunning PS5 game (with 60FPS frame rate and Ray tracing)?
While god of war and Horizon Zero DawnThe transition from console to PC was also almost flawless, there is something very unique about Spidey’s jump from TV screen to monitor. Developer Nixxes Software stretches the title to its limits, and the results are spectacular.
Get back into action with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for pc
Peter Parker is back as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. This time he is a bit older and wiser when it comes to his street art. However, his life is still on the rocks as he spends most of his time fighting crime, sacrificing his personal life for New York City.
Although the game made Spider-Man a well-known superhero in the city after already defeating some of his main enemies, it adds a relatively unknown villain to the mix of several others, while also revealing the roots of one of the capture comics. most notorious villains. It’s a surprising contrast in how things unfold in terms of the timeline, which makes things a little different from what’s normally established in most comic book series and movies.
The gameplay is also absolutely entertaining. It feels effortless as you swing back and forth between the buildings and even the lower trees in Central Park.
I don’t want to spend too much time going through the story and setting for the game, which was already established in the first review of 2018. Instead, we’ll focus on the new, the different, and the issues with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC port.
Climbed the water spout

Developers Insomniac Studios recently improved the PS4 title for PS5, bringing with it a host of new graphics features to impress. For the PC variant, they teamed up with Nixxes Software for the PC port.
From the start menu, even before entering the game, you are presented with plenty of options when it comes to your graphics settings. In Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC, you can tinker with renders, resolutions, ray tracing (if supported by your GPU), configuration of your ultra-wide monitor and Nvidia’s DLSS, and more. Regardless of your GPU, you’ll have a host of features that perfectly meet your needs.
As with many modern AAA, open-world titles, players can easily get lost in the scenic environment. And that is also the case here. I found myself enjoying just meandering through New York City, exploring the different sights, as well as meandering through sunrise or sunset with the sunlight shining between the city’s tall buildings. The developers made sure to check off these graphics to ensure PC gamers could get their fill, even for the now four-year-old title.
What’s really great about it Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC is that it scales up to 4K resolution and increased FPS for those higher frequency displays. This allows players to really immerse themselves in the game, even more than just the improved graphics. However, you need one of the best GPUs to achieve this, which itself can cost more than just the PS5 console. However, that graphical superiority is really something.
Plus, if you’re playing on more of the mid-tier GPUs with 1080p or even 1440p resolution, you can easily get around 80-90FPS. Even then, monitoring GPU levels averages around 80% meaning it doesn’t maximize performance to achieve this. That says a lot about the game’s port, which works efficiently as opposed to the best GPUs to get the best performance. This is a telltale sign of a really good port – even with a few problems along the way.
The Remastered version is more than just the improved graphics capabilities. In addition to the main game, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC includes all three DLCs released since launch. Each of the DLCs is presented in the main menu and you can easily select and play it. However, it’s not as seamless as many of the other PlayStation DLCs that are organically incorporated into the main game. But that’s not really a big talking point, to be honest.
The rain washed away the spider

Needless to say, there aren’t many games that are nearly flawless at the time of release. Even with the two-year period to iron out the bugs over time, releasing it on a completely new platform will always bring new challenges. And that’s the same for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for pc.
After we received the review key just before launch, there were quite a few notable bugs to discover. Most of these got in the way of some missing renders in the environment as you walked between buildings. These weren’t too distracting though, as they resolve themselves in a second or two.
Another notable glitches – although it’s possible to have featured in the PlayStation versions as well – are the NPCs that get stuck in awkward positions when you’re fighting the bad guys, making it a bit difficult to finish a few stages with ease. round. Luckily, he’s the web-slinger, and once you unlock the ability, you can bring these characters to the fore using the webs before completing the attack. It works well enough but isn’t the best event when trying some timed challenges.
Again, this is generally not a big problem. The biggest problem for me was the constant crashing of the game. This was especially true during the pre-launch assessment period. Most of this was alleviated with a Day-One patch. However, after playing for a few hours for three days, it still crashed unexpectedly six or seven times. It’s even more frustrating when the game crashes and you’re back on the Windows desktop without even an error message, warning, or anything like that. After playing the patch for 15 hours, that’s a crash every three hours or so. This is still much better than the 30-60 minute launch day average.
The diversity

While I play many of my PC games with the Xbox controller, PC titles almost always allow gamers to play however they want, whether it’s a keyboard and mouse controller.
When starting Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for pc i played with the controller most of the time. For the completeness of the review, I spent a few hours trying the keyboard-mouse combination. Where I thought it would be a bit of a struggle considering all the buttons needed for combinations and nearly simultaneous swinging, it ended up being a cinch. In fact, I can say that if you spend enough time playing this way, the experience and control would be much greater than that of the conventional controller.
And this is what surprised me the most about the game. You can easily change your playstyle while still offering so many options for your configuration settings while still being extremely efficient at doing so. Even with a few glitches, the harbor’s underlying development is some of the best I’ve experienced in recent years.
Is Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for pc worth buying?
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC is a really great addition to the PlayStation Studios portfolio. It looks good, it plays brilliantly, and you’ll want to return again and again to swing those webs around neatly built New York City.
With Uncharted next on the release list in 2022, the year continues to impress the Sony stables. In addition, they also announced that they expect to release up to a third of their exclusive portfolio on PC by 2025, it’s really exciting news for PC gamers.
You can buy the game from Steam or Epic Store for PC for a reasonable R699.
