Genshin Impact 3.0 is going to be a pretty big update. The game reveals an all-new nation, Sumeru, the Land of Wisdom, as well as the Dendro element and Archon.

The Genshin Impact 3.0 preload option goes live August 21, 2022Bee 10pm server time (Chinese Standard Time). It will then be available until the start of server maintenance.
Genshin Impact 3.0 Maintenance Schedule
Genshin Impact servers go into maintenance for Genshin Impact 3.0 August 24, 2022at 6:00 am on server time (Chinese Standard Time).
In other time zones, Genshin Impact servers will fail on:
- Aug 23, 2022, 2:00 PM PST
- August 23, 2022, 5:00 p.m. EST
- August 23, 2022, 22:00 GMT
This downtime lasts approximately 5 hours and players receive compensatory Primogems for the time they are unable to play.
Travelers get at least 300 Primogem. In addition, Hoyoverse gives: 300 Primogem as compensation for all bug fixes also found in the previous update.
Genshin Impact 3.0 file size
The file size of Genshin Impact 3.0 seems to be larger than previous updates as a brand new region will be added.
New updates normally take up about 2.5 GB for mobile devices and about 10 GB for PC players.
According to leaks and based on the beta version files, the storage space for Genshin Impact will be almost double:
- In the case of Android and IOS, for the whole game, we can expect devices of 4-5 GB to be around 20 GB.
- The leaks point to 30 GB for the PC version.
If you need to free up some space, Genshin Impact has the ability to delete voiceover files to clear some Gygabites from your memory.
Delete Voiceover Files
Voice-Over files are characters’ dialogues during cutscenes, and by deleting them, players can save valuable space while still having the option to add them back later.
- Open the Settings menu in the game and go to the Language section.
- In the Language section, players must use the Manage Voice Over Files option.
- Delete the voiceover files for the specific languages you don’t need.
How to preload Genshin Impact 3.0

pc
On PC, you need to launch the game launcher and click on the “Game Pre-Installation” option on the screen.
After that, the game update should be installed automatically. Travelers can still play while preloading game resources.
Preloading takes up a certain amount of your network bandwidth, so it’s best to ensure a good network connection.
Mobile
Mobile players need to login to their account and go to the “Paimon menu”. Go to settings and then click on ‘Preinstall Resource Pack’.
If this doesn’t work, you can see the package in the main menu after logging in. Click it to install everything.
Travelers on mobile won’t be able to play the game while downloading resources, so it’s best to start the process when you’re taking a break or staying overnight.
Play station
Unfortunately for PlayStation travelers, there is no option to preload the Genshin Impact 3.0 update yet. We’ll update if that changes before launch day.
The Playstation console will redownload the entire game to make sure there are no corrupt files. Therefore, to play Genshin Impact 3.0, Playstation players must first download about 40 GB of content.
