Apex Legends Mobile Season 2.5 launches next week, with Crypto likely to make its mobile debut alongside the new battle pass. In celebration of the imminent appearance of the tech-savvy legend, the mobile game has hosted several themed events pointing to the imminent arrival of Crypto, the latest of which is the System Anomaly event.
The System Anomaly event basically serves as Crypto’s in-game teaser, similar to some of the pre-season teasers found in Apex Legends on console and PC. Players who complete the challenges of the event will unlock a series of five free rewards, including a mobile weapon skin for the Hemlock. Keep reading for a detailed breakdown of the event’s challenges and rewards.
To work
Unlike many previous Apex Legends Mobile events, you most likely received a System Anomaly push notification saying, “You’ve received an encrypted file. You know what to do! Crack the code!” To start the mission, open the notification (or just launch the Apex Mobile app). After logging in, a series of splash screens will appear advertising various events and shopping bundles. Select “Go!” on the system deviations screen, or manually navigate to the event hub by selecting the seasonal event banner on the right side of the main lobby screen and then selecting the “Limited Time” tab at the top of the screen. System Deviation is already at the top of the event list, so once you “Go!” you will be taken to the event center.
Upon reaching the hub, you will be greeted by a message that reads “Access Denied.” Select “Try Decrypt”, which will unlock the hub and allow you to view the event’s challenges and see the rewards. Selecting the question mark at the top of the screen will display the event description: “You have received an encrypted file. Collect Drift Points to unlock its contents.”

Anomaly Points and Challenges
After selecting “Try to Decrypt”, the Event Hub screen will “break” into 9 pieces, which must be unlocked individually by collecting the number of anomaly points listed on each piece. The number of anomaly points required to unlock a single piece ranges from 2 to 6. You need to collect a total of 27 anomaly points to unlock all 9 pieces.
Anomaly Points are gained by completing Event Challenges. Unlike previous events, some challenges also reward the player with in-game currency, Syndicate Pack Pieces, and Mission Cards in addition to Anomaly Points. Challenges are refreshed every day, so don’t worry if there are a few you can’t complete – you’ll get another shot at some of them the next day.
The challenges of the event and the number of Anomaly Points players will receive for completing it are as follows:
- Deal 500 damage with LMGs in each mode – 1 Anomaly point
- Deal 3,000 damage in each mode – 3 anomaly points, 1 mission card
- Complete 10 Matches in Multiplayer – 4 Anomaly Points, 5 Syndicate Pack Pieces
- Open 15 storage bins in each mode – 2 anomaly points
- Defeat enemies 5 times in each mode – 1 anomaly point
- Log in for 3 days – 4 Anomaly Points, 200 Flux
To keep track of your progress, you can access the list of event challenges by opening the tab on the right side of the event hub.

Rewards
In addition to the Syndicate Pack Pieces, Mission Cards, and Flux you receive for completing individual challenges, players who earn all 27 Anomaly Points needed to complete the event will unlock the following rewards:
- 5 Syndicate Package Pieces
- Skull weapon charm (rare)
- 300 Flux
- 1 syndicate pack
- Fading Mist Hemlock weapon skin (rare)

The System Anomaly event is live until August 26, so don’t rush it – unlike other seasonal events, System Anomaly won’t end when Season 2.5 launches on August 23. Still, it takes at least three days to collect the required number of anomaly points to crack the code, so make sure to plan accordingly.
Once you have deciphered all 9 pieces, something special will happen. What is that “something special”? We won’t spoil the surprise.
