It was recently announced that Myles Garrett would be joining the 99 club in the near future Madden 23 game and he deserves it, but I had to think, what other Cleveland Browns were so highly regarded?
A few things to keep in mind as you go through this list. I only use release ratings. I felt it was only fair to use the ratings used during the game’s release, as players like Jamir Miller, Tre Johnson, and Courtney Brown couldn’t take advantage of the nice mid-season online updates.
It is also important to note that although the madden game has been released every year since 1988, i only used the 1999 and earlier ratings. There are a few reasons for that, because the first one is something that is very hard to find before that year, frankly, Madden 2000 reviews were almost impossible to find online, but the second reason is that early game reviews were wild. Players didn’t have overalls, they only had a few traits and they only went up to 15. For reference, Bernie Kosar didn’t have overalls, but did have 11 in passing range and 12 in passing accuracy.
Also note that the madden games are named after the year the season ended, so Madden 23 is actually for the 2022 season. The following are the 11 highest-rated Cleveland Browns in: madden video game history, I will only name each player once based on their highest rating, so Joe Thomas, despite being highly rated throughout his career, is only listed once:
Fun fact before we start, the Browns have never had a quarterback hit the 90 overall range since they came back.
Any Cleveland Browns fan will remember Courtney Brown, who was the first overall selection in the 2000 NFL Draft. Most will remember Brown as a failure, but people forget that he was a freight train in his rookie season and earned All-Rookie honors, so it would make sense that he would be rated so highly for the 2001 season.
Brown was also the only Brown over 90 overall in Madden 2003 at the age of 93, but he never reaches those heights of excellence in a madden game again.

Shaun Rogers had a staying power as he was rated over 90 all three seasons he was in Cleveland, with 2009 being his best. Rogers was 94 in 2009, 92 in 2010 and 93 in 2011. Rogers was a huge asset to Cleveland when they traded with the Detroit Lions for his rights and he didn’t disappoint. 2008.

LeCharles Bentley was the 2006 fee-free agent and Bentley signed with the Cleveland Browns after dominating with the New Orleans Saints, where he was an All-Rookie and two-time Pro Bowler. His time in Cleveland was so derailed by injuries that he never took a snapshot. Bentley ruptured his patellar tendon, resulting in a serious infection that halted his entire career.
Virtual LeCharles Bentley, on the other hand, was a revelation for the Browns. Bentley was overall rated as 95 in Madden 2007 and 90 overall in Madden 2008.
Braylon Edwards was expected to become a star after the Cleveland Browns selected him as the third overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft and in 2007 showed exactly why he was selected so highly for being an All-Pro that season. used to be. ‘s team madden apparently they thought the fun would continue as they gave Edwards an overall rating of 95 for next season. Edwards would not make it to 90 for the rest of his career.

The Cleveland Browns signed Eric Steinbach in free agency for the 2007 season after he dominated with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Browns made Steinbach the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history and he proved to be worth every penny. Steinbach was a consistent beast in madden as well as sporting reviews of 94 overall in Madden 200895 total in Madden 200993 in total Madden 201091 in total Madden 2011.
The Cleveland Browns selected Joe Haden seventh overall in the 2010 NFL Draft and he had a glorious career as he earned All-Rookie honors, one All-Pro honors and three Pro Bowl honors. Haden was equally phenomenal in madden with ratings of 92 in total Madden 201391 in total Madden 201495 total in Madden 2015and 90 in total in Madden 2016.

The Cleveland Browns acquired Odell Bekckham Jr. in an off-season blockbuster with the New York Giants in 2019 and as you can tell by his lofty madden rating, Beckham was expected to continue his elite career. Unfortunately, injuries took their toll on Beckham and he was released in 2021. This was the only season in which Beckham made more than 90 with the Browns.

The Clevland Browns drafted Nick Chubb in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft and he has been a Pro Bowler three times and named All-Pro once. Chubb is on track to become a Browns legend and his madden ratings reflect that with a 92 overall in Madden 2021 and 96 overall in both Madden 2022 and Madden 2023.

Kellen Winslow II was selected sixth overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2004 NFL Draft and, like Braylon Edwards, had a phenomenal 2007 season that saw the creators of madden thought would mate in the next season, as evidenced by the 97 overall rating in Madden 2009. Winslow was also highly rated in Madden 2008 out of 94 in total.
I don’t need to say too much about the legendary Joe Thomas. Everyone should be familiar with Thomas, but for those in need of a refresher, Thomas was selected third overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2007 and had a Hall of Fame career with All-Rookie honors, ten Pro Bowl invites and eight All-Pro teams.
Thomas was a spectacular madden player also with a 97 overall in Madden 20092010, 2013, 2014, 2017, 95 total in Madden 20122016, 98 overall in Madden 2015and 92 in total Madden 2018.

Here he is! Myles Garrett is officially the highest-rated Cleveland Brown in madden history and rightly so. The Browns selected Garrett as number one overall in 2017 and have also had a Hall of Fame career with All-Rookie honors, along with being named to the Pro Bowl and three times to All-Pro.
Garrett has been devastating in madden ever since Madden 2020 when he was 91 overall and every year he has risen. In Madden 2021Garrett was 93 overall, Madden 2022 Garrett was 98 overall and of course Garrett will join the 99 club this year in Madden 2023.
