Indian brand Cosmic Byte recently launched two new gaming headsets with Dolby Atmos support – Equinox Kronos Wireless and Equinox Neutrino. Both are high-fidelity gaming headsets on a budget to give you the best gaming experience without hurting your pocket much.

Well, are the features and specs too good to be true? I’ve been using it as my primary headset for work, music and, of course, gaming for over a week now, so here’s a complete review and guide on whether you should buy this Cosmic Byte Equinox Neutrino headset or not:

Design & Build
When you first look at the headset you feel a gaming vibe but this is plastic construction but doesn’t feel cheap as the band is sturdy and filled with lots of cushions. I didn’t notice much flex and is very light, weighing in at just 260 grams, making it one of the best to use for hours on end.
Adjusting the ear cups to your height is no problem at all and the switches together with a volume wheel that is sometimes very handy. From having a dedicated switch to mute your voice to having lots of cables to connect to different devices, Cosmic Byte won’t give up even if it offers this gaming headset at an affordable price.
The branding on the headband wrapped in foam on the back and plenty of cushioning on the inside makes it look just plain beautiful and is of course a joy to use while gaming or listening to casual music. In terms of build quality, I’m surprised by the price, Cosmic Byte really offers a premium vibe that even brands like Logitech or HyperX don’t offer for the price.
The overall quality and construction are quite durable and for an average gamer it should last for many years if used properly. Personally, I am not a fan of metal clad gaming headsets as they are quite heavy and this design and build makes more sense. The RGB lighting adds to the glory and syncs with the atmosphere to provide the best gaming experience, which again for the price is really noticeable.
Sound quality
The main highlight at launch had to be the audio of this gaming headset, as it promises features such as 7.1 Surround Sound and Dolby Atmos, which were previously unavailable in this price range. How is it performing now? Surprisingly, Cosmic Byte’s attempt at providing the best audio experience won’t disappoint you at all.
When I used it for my daily use, I found the sound adequate for YouTube sessions or binge-watching due to the large 50mm dynamic drivers. The voice and wording during video sessions was very accurate and clear, even while gaming opponents’ footsteps can be heard easily, the volume wheel helps to adjust the loudness in real time, which is a real help.
The noise canceling ear cups eliminate the background noise to a certain extent and then go to play music or play games, the ultimate sound quality is excellent. You can hardly be distracted by the noise outside unless it’s really loud, but I didn’t find the Dolby Atmos feature over the top overall, the sound was pretty good.
It lacks bass though unless you go really loud as it’s geared more towards gaming, but the audio experience as a whole for the price is pretty good. The ease of connection to any device such as PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, mobile phones and tablets makes this an ideal multi-purpose gaming headset. Cosmic Byte has provided a very handy pair of headphones in the form of Equinox Neutrino and the sound quality is decent for the price.
Microphone
To make the experience even better to the microphone of this headset, Cosmic Byte has provided an ENC detachable microphone for the best recording and streaming quality. Obviously it’s not the best noise canceling mic, but just rotate the mic or adjust it via the adjustable arm, this makes it easy to use while gaming.
In terms of volume, the players on your opponent can easily hear you without any problems and to be honest the quality of the microphone is quite good for the price. Let’s say you want to clean this Cosmic Byte Equinox Neutrino Gaming headset, it’s easy because each cable and microphone can be detached and reattached according to your usage.
Comfort and software
Speaking of comfort, yes, these are one of the most comfortable gaming headphones I’ve ever tried because as you can see the ear cups are very fluffy as the deep cushioning makes your ears fall into the headset easily. I’ve used the headphones for hours watching movies and gaming intensely and never experienced any discomfort.
I am really in love with the comfort of this new Cosmic Byte Equinox Neutrino gaming headset and would easily recommend it for its comfort.

Well, it totally depends on your usage scenario and budget, but at a price of Rs.4.5k, this is a very well balanced gaming headset with a wired connection. Now, if you’re not into wired, you can go for its brother Kronos Wireless, which costs R.2k more.
It’s really hard to find flaws for the price but yes the audio could have been better but for an average user it’s more than enough I’d say. The Equinox Neutrino Gaming Headset is a comfortable everyday headset that doesn’t cost much, looks great, feels premium and is sturdy enough to last for years.
