Often referred to as Humble Bundle, Humble is an online PC gaming store that uses a portion of its proceeds to support various charities. It is known for selling high-quality game bundles with a unique pay-what-you-want pricing model.
The company also has a subscription service called Humble Choice that costs $12 per month. The service offers a new selection of games every month for members to claim and keep indefinitely.

What is Humble Bundle?
Humble is best known for selling Humble Bundles, which are thematic packages of PC games that are offered at a great discount. Even better, you can choose how much you pay. Each bundle has a minimum price that you have to pay to get the full collection, but you can always pay less for a smaller selection of games.
For example, to get all eight titles in the current Walking Dead 10th Anniversary Bundle (worth $174) you’ll need to pay a minimum of $11, but if you only pay $1, you can still get three of the games. Each bundle only lasts for a limited time, so it’s a good place to check every now and then for big savings.
In addition to games, Humble also offers bundles of books and software.
Is Humble Bundle Legitimate?
While the deals may seem too good to be true, Humble Bundle is a genuine company that offers customers great savings while also donating a portion of the proceeds to charity. It partners with major video game developers such as Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Sega to bring popular titles to gamers at a price you’ll want to pay.
That said, Humble is a commercial company and is not considered a 501(c) tax-exempt charitable organization. It is not a non-profit organization and your purchases do not count as charitable donations, although some do go to such causes.

Humble Choice is Humble’s gaming subscription service that gives members a new selection of games every month to download and keep forever.
This is how it works: Every month you choose which games you want to claim from the available offer. Humble will then give you a redemption key for each that you can enter into the necessary game launcher, such as Steam, Epic Games, or Origin. You get to keep the game even if you choose to end your Humble Choice subscription.
In addition to this main perk, Choice membership gives you a handful of other fun perks, such as store discounts and access to the Humble Games Collection, where you can play even more games as long as you remain a member.
How much does Humble Choice cost?
Humble Bundle’s monthly Choice membership costs $12 per month or $129 per year. That’s a $15 savings if you opt for the annual plan.
When will new Humble Choice titles come out?
New sets of Humble Choice games are announced on the first Tuesday of each month at 10am PT/1pm ET.
What benefits does Humble Choice offer?
The main draw of a Humble Choice membership is definitely new games every month. In total, the service includes:
- New PC games every month that you can keep forever.
- An incremental member discount in the Humble Store that goes up to 20% when you are a member for a year.
- Access the Humble Games Collection through the Humble desktop app while subscribing.

The service doesn’t always include expensive, in-demand titles, but you can expect a diverse selection of games to choose from, from older major releases to brand new indie drops.
For example, July 2022 featured Deep Rock Galactic, a highly popular 2018 first-person shooter that typically costs $30, alongside Yes, Your Grace, a 2020 indie resource management sim.

What happens to games that I don’t redeem from my Humble Choice membership?

Games that you do not redeem will remain in your account and will not expire. You can choose to claim them weeks, months or even years after they become available.
Keep in mind that games are not automatically downloaded to your PC; you have to claim all the games you want separately.
What charities does Humble Bundle support?
Humble Bundle supports a different charity every month. For August, it’s with the National Network of Abortion Funds.
The company has raised a lot of money over the years for a variety of causes, including the ACLU, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Girls Who Code, Charity: Water, and One Tree Planted. Each purchase or subscription contributes in part to a participating charity.
Is Humble Choice worth it?
If you’re a regular PC gamer, the Humble Bundle’s Choice membership is definitely worth it. Even if the only benefit you get is the monthly downloads, it’s only $12 for a handful of games that are worth much, much more. August 2022, for example, totaling $191 in PC downloads on Steam — now all yours for a fraction of the cost.
As a longtime Humble Choice member, I have become one for life. Not only have I been able to download games that I wish I had, but I also found a lot of great new titles that I wouldn’t have bought otherwise. Any games I don’t want I can even give to friends who are interested. It also feels great to know that my monthly contribution is supporting a good cause.
