Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a goofy game that is in line with the entire series. It has had quite a few action-packed and dramatic moments, but the characters can also be quite hilarious. Sometimes the comedy doesn’t come naturally to the story. Fans can deduce their jokes through memes in the series.

The same applies to Xenoblade Chronicles 3, thanks to the support of fans. Are all these memes true? No, but that’s the beauty of the medium: creativity. Whether these jokes get to you or not, they are here to stay. There will be story spoilers for about the first third of the game.

GAMERANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

8 Lelouch strikes again

Moebius’ eye check technique should look familiar to fans of anime. Code Geass is a classic 2000s mech-based series about a young man, Lelouch, who inherits the power to control people with his eye. He can only command a person once, so he has to be strategic about how he uses this power.

Puree Lelouch with the time Ethel comes under control Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is too hilarious for words. Lelouch would fit right into this wild world of mechs. monsters and warring nations.

7 My whistle continues

The soundtrack of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is just one of the great things about this game. The flute is widely used, especially since Noah and Mio send people to the afterlife with their instruments. The melody is reminiscent of the epic flute solos from Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”, the iconic song of Titanic.

It’s funny to imagine Noah backing up to Celine as she pulls out this epic tune of lost love. It’s curious to wonder if Celine knows what video games are or anime for that matter.

6 tentacles

Most Heaven and Hell video games deploy the demons as the villains. The bayonetta series instead imagined a world where angels were the grotesque monsters. The designs of the Moebius transformations in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 look a lot like some of the angelic beings in the bayonetta series.

It’s hard to tell after watching this meme about the shape consuls O and P have turned into. Pureeing this real line, says the titular Bayonetta, is comic gold. Perhaps the new sequel will give a shout-out to this game when it launches in October.

5 Bridge baby

One of the earliest cutscenes in the game shows that the Queen of the Keves Nation can use some kind of magic to grow kids in tanks. The liquid, or the tanks, have an orange sheen. The same glow is also used for the Bridge Babies in Death Stranding. So it’s easy to see how fans would imagine the Queen summoning Bridge Babies to appear before her, too.

As confused as the story is about these kids, it’s not strange enough to have Noah carry a baby by his side. That would be a very different RPG experience.

4 Main characters don’t wear helmets

It’s easy to tell who a main character is in a video game, anime, or whatever if that character shows his face. There are some exceptions like Mando from The Mandalorian or Master Chief in Halo. In case of Xenoblade Chronicles 3a random soldier wearing a helmet probably means they will die.

Main characters should wear helmets, as it doesn’t make sense that without helmets they could survive longer on the battlefield. But how would fans get to see the pretty faces of these anime-esque heroes and heroines? That’s seemingly where the dilemma crops up with the developers.

Venom Snake would go wild in the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 because there are “Metal Gears” everywhere. It’s fun to imagine Guernica Vandham acting a bit like Snake as they have similar features to the designs, especially the model from Metal Gear Solid 5. Guernica wears large glasses and he has a huge scar on his face and an eye patch.

Making him scream about Metal Gears in this game, like Sahelanthropus, doesn’t feel that far off. If Konami did more DLC collaborations, it would have been cool to see Noah and the others take on a more anime-esque version of Sahelanthropus or another Metal Gear from the series.

2 hand it over

As mentioned before, the various Consuls in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 have the ability to control others with their eyes. They imprint images of shadowy black figures on the bodies of Noah and the others, telling them that they are enemies. This meme imagines Moebius making Noah look like Sora’s shadow form from Kingdom Hearts.

Getting a Keyblade in this game would also be cool for a DLC collaboration. Much of the original team at Monolith Soft started at Square, so the possibility of them reaching out to start this partnership isn’t out of the question.

1 The sending

Another Square connection fans have made is that the shipping process Noah and Mio go through is reminiscent of how ghosts are laid to rest in Final Fantasy 10. In this meme you can see Yuna dancing next to Noah and Mio playing their flutes for the dead. Maybe that’s where the idea came from, as someone on the team probably played Final Fantasy 10.

If only Noah could play his flute to summon creatures like Ifrit to the battlefield. That would be great, but it’s also cool to be able to merge into mech-esque suits. Can Yuna take on Noah and Mio’s mecha forms in a duel?

Xenoblade Chronicles 3was released on July 29, 2022 and is available on Switch.
