The Sixth Sense is still important and Bruce Willis has done a fantastic job as psychiatrist Malcolm Crowe, who comes to the shocking realization that he is really dead while working with a child patient named Cole Sears (Haley Joel Osment).

The Sixth Sense has a satisfying horror movie ending, but also a sad one, as Malcolm sees his wife Anna (Olivia Williams) again and they have an ending. Anna was always angry that Malcolm was working so much, and he tells her that he loves her and that he didn’t mean to make her feel so bad. It’s hard not to cry watching this beautiful scene. Malcolm has learned so many lessons from contacting Cole and he is finally able to process his feelings about his marriage. Seeing Anna means so much to Malcolm.

Many horror movie characters suffer and little Cody Morgan (Jacob Tremblay) has lost his mother to cancer. He also can’t sleep without terrible dreams that come to life when The Canker Man comes after him. The film is as emotional as it is terrifying, with an awe-inspiring performance of Tremblay as a child missing his parent and living in a nightmare.

Jessie (Kate Bosworth) and Mark Hobson (Thomas Jane) do their best to find out what’s going on, and by the end of the film, Jessie realizes the truth: The Canker Man is Cody’s mother. As Jessie helps Cody move on, they grow closer and look forward to their future as a family. While some of the villains in horror movies are silly, this one is creepy, and the audience cares so much about young Cody.

There are many underrated female heroes in Blumhouse movies and Amaya DeSoto (Stephanie Nogueras) is a well written character in the 2018 movie Unfriend: Dark Web. From the very first scene, it’s clear that Matias O’Brien (Colin Woodell) loves Amaya so much, even though he’s terrified of losing her… which, sadly, is exactly what happens.

When Amaya calls Matias later in the film, he discovers that The Circle has taken her and a Charon attacks Amaya. The characters have an amazing horror movie love story and it is heartbreaking to see what happens. Matias is hopeless and helpless and this is the moment in the film when he learns that The Circle is playing with him for fun.

The Nighthouse takes on loss and grief, and the 2021 film has many tear-jerking moments. Beth (Rebecca Halls) mourns her late husband Owen (Evan Jonigkeit) in every scene, but by the end she’s in a boat and realizes she has to let go and move on.

This is an incredibly emotional moment where the events of the entire story really sink in to Beth. She is still panicked by the fact that Owen kidnapped women who looked like her so that he could sacrifice them to an evil spirit, but she understands that he was trying to help and protect her. Beth has been through so much and while she can never have complete closure, she feels a little stronger after the ordeal she’s been through. It’s so sad to imagine being in this position.

The black phone has great child actors, including Miguel Cazarez Mora, who goes to school with Finney (Mason Thames). Both Finney and his sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) are aware that any of their fellow students could be taken at any moment by Ethan Hawke’s creepy villain The Grabber, but it’s still a huge shock when he kidnaps and then kills Robin.

Finney and Gwen feel terrible about the loss of a beloved classmate, and this moment really makes clear the impact this serial killer is having on this Denver community. It is truly shocking to see these siblings, who have already lost their mother and who live with an abusive father, mourn a friend. Later, when Finney gets calls from victims, he remembers how much he loved Robin and really misses him.
