Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy is widely regarded as one of the best spectacular fights FromSoftware has ever created, as many Elden ring players will likely remember the battle long after it is over. Part of that has to do with Rykard’s character design, and a Elden ring fan gave fans a closer look at the many parts of her body.
Those who read about Elden ringRykard’s story will meet Rykard’s intriguing origin story, which is inherently tied to the iconic Volcano Manor. Rennala and Radagon’s son, Rykard’s insanity, and his decision to rebel against the Erdtree saw him sacrifice himself to the God-Eating Serpent, merging with the beast so that he would have the power to eat the gods of the Midlands. . With his wife Tanith feeding him the bodies of strong spotted hunters so he can grow stronger, Rykard is a very powerful and big enemy when players encounter him.
Given its absurd size and the unique concept of a human being mixed with a snake, it’s no wonder that some members of the Elden ring community became interested in Rykard’s anatomy. Twitter user @Emma_The_Ward provided the answers to any of the questions players might have, creating an intricate graphic of the monstrous Rykard’s anatomy. While the graphic was beautiful when it was originally made, it became more informative and intriguing when the labels were added, as players can get a close-up look at the many parts of the Lord of Blasphemy’s body.
The amount of detail in the piece is incredible, as the artist includes texture work for every part of the human-serpent hybrid. Seeing Rykard’s skull near the snake’s venom gland is certainly memorable, as are the many bones that span the creature’s long body. While having an idea of where things like the liver and heart would be placed is both cool and gross, the most eye-catching part of the artwork is Rykard’s arms. A reminder that Rykard is still part human, seeing an almost normal humerus and lightning bolt so close to a snake’s tail is shocking.
The play makes an already disturbing Elden ring design look even more unsettling due to the appearance inside the snake. With the original post, the artist received a well-deserved 18,000 upvotes and the vast majority of comments praised @Emma_The_Ward for her efforts or thanked her for sharing her work. Others, like @Ashen_Pasta, have pointed out how much the artist’s wrists must have hurt after adding so many complexities to the chart.
Much like the video showing Elden ring‘s unarmored, this image provides a new perspective on Rykard. Next time players battle the God-Eating Serpent, perhaps they’ll notice the details pointed out in this fan art.
Elden ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
