Perhaps one of the best things about the epic game store is that users never know what they are going to get. Aside from their reliable pattern of Thursday reveal and release, the games themselves are never predictable. The Epic Games Store will offer indie gems, big AAA titles, themed releases, viral games, games few have heard of, and so on.

For example, while two of your recent games don’t look anything alike on the surface—killing floor 2 and ancient enemy—there are underlying thematic ties about a collapsing civilization. Over the next week, it looks like the two games are going in completely opposite directions in terms of tones, themes, and even, perhaps, quality. Currently, fans can claim Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trapand it’s an easy recommendation for an Epic Games Store takedown, but next week they’ll receive Titãs store and Tannenberg.

Epic Games Store Free Games for July 21st Explained

Inside Titãs store, players find themselves in what is often a secondary role. The game takes place in a large adventure center/city, but the players are not adventurers – your shop owners. Players will set up their own shop, choose their looks and merchandise, craft, upgrade and enchant items, organize their heroes among 18 classes, send them out to fight monsters, and can even play in the market/guilds around them.

This style of background management function, while attractive, is not seen in Tannenberg. It puts players on the front lines, where players must fight for control of the Eastern World War I front against the Russian Empire, Germany, and so on. It aims to be an accurate war simulation with seven squads, 50+ weapons, 8 large maps, tactical freedom and much more. One puts players in the background in charge; the other puts them at the forefront of command.

However, perhaps the biggest disparity from this week’s games is their review scores. While reviews are always subjective and it is definitely possible that fans like these games for their unique qualities, fans should keep in mind that many reviews of Titan stores dragged its microtransactions. They are not as aggressive or predatory as Immortal Diablo‘s, but they are loud and proud.

About that, Tannenberg received more mixed reviews but had more variety. There are pros and cons to Tannenberg, as in all games, but as a whole, Titãs store was hit by targeted attacks against microtransactions and Tannenberg had a lot of subjective hits. Either way, they will be available on July 21st for Epic Games Store fans to determine for themselves.
