Shikanoin Heizou in Genshin Impact is like a breath of fresh air on the game’s repetitive mechanic. After the release of Yelan, who’s far too similar to Xingqiu, and Kuki Shinobu, who’s too niche to be important, Heizou is here to bring a different kind of fun for players who wish to seek a change.
The Anemo character will be a Catalyst wielder in Genshin Impact that excels as the primary damage dealer. However, as a 4-star character, some weaknesses are expected to be seen, so players should be aware of the following facts before aiming to get Heizou in their party.
Is It Worth Pulling For Shikanoin Heizou In Genshin Impact?
Usually, Anemo characters are excellent as a support, thanks to the existence of Viridescent Venerer artifacts. The only exception for this was Xiao, but now Heizou is added to the list. Shortly put, Heizou is not worth it if players are aiming for a big-number DPS. However, for those seeking some fun, the Tenryou Commission detective can bring a new and refreshing playstyle to the game. Here are some noteworthy things players should know before pulling for Shikanoin Heizou in Genshin Impact.
Shikanoin Heizou Is Primarily A Main DPS
Shikanoin Heizou is primarily meant to be played as a main DPS in Genshin Impact. However, his personal damage is somewhat underwhelming compared to other DPS, especially those with a 5-star rarity. Shikanoin Heizou can deal large damage via his Elemental Skill, but that’s about it. Travelers won’t be able to enjoy big numbers from Heizou’s normal hits.
Sadly, even though Heizou can deal great damage from his Skill and his Burst is also easy to use (it has a low Energy requirement and cool down), the detective is not very suitable as a sub-DPS. He can indeed deal decent damage without taking field time, but when compared to dedicated supports like Sucrose, Kazuha, and Venti, there’s nothing that Heizou can do better than them.
Shikanoin Heizou’s Build Depends On The Enemy
Not only does Heizou has low basic attack damage, but he is also not very flexible. His Genshin Impact build differs based on the enemies players will be facing.
In a situation where Swirl is more advantageous (when there are plenty of monsters around), a pure Elemental Mastery build will shine, but if there’s only one enemy present (like with bosses), then Swirl damage becomes far less significant. While switching builds can easily be done, this means that Heizou is not a very flexible character to play with.
Shikanoin Heizou’s Strengths And Weaknesses
Even with the many weaknesses though, Shikanoin Heizou can still shine in several aspects.
Shikanoin Heizou’s Strengths:
- Can easily Swirl aura Elements
- Elemental Burst only requires 40 Energy to use and has a short cooldown (12s)
- Elemental Skill can deal large numbers on damage build
- Amazing against a horde of enemies
Shikanoin Heizou’s Weakness:
- Highly reliant on having Cryo, Electro, Pyro, or Hydro units in the team
- Not a good fit for Anemo and Geo team
- Bad at generating Energy
- Elemental Skill damage is highly reliant on Declension Stack
- Not suitable as a sub-DPS
- Not very good against single targets
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
