Cameron Crovetti did not play a very important role in the Amazon Prime hit show The boys yet, but knowing how your character relates to the main characters, that could change by the time the show’s fourth season begins. Crovetti, who plays Homelander’s son Ryan, recently reflected on his character’s pivotal decision at the end of the show’s third season.

The end of season 3 of The boys It was an event, to say the least.. Among the notable events was Ryan Butcher’s decision to return to Homelander, his father.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Crovetti expressed his excitement to see where Ryan goes now that the show has hinted that Ryan will not only be by his father’s side, but also appears to be catching Homelander’s violent tendencies. Crovetti expressed his ecstasy, as well as his concern, about where the show goes next with him as Homelander’s only child. “I’m really excited to see what they do with my character,” Crovetti said. “Ryan has always been dubious about who he’s going to be with, Butcher or Homelander? next season.”

Ryan has typically only been a major player at the end of each of the games. The boys‘ three seasons. His well-being revealed served as the biggest plot twist of the first season, as after Homelander impregnated Becca Butcher, he and Becca were both alive and well while being hidden by Vought from the super psychopath. He was then the one who stopped Stormfront after the Nazi antagonist was in the process of suffocating Becca to take Ryan himself. Now, he serves as the only person Homelander has any care for. With Homelander having Ryan all to himself, there’s no telling what will happen next for the super pre-teen.

This adds even more intrigue to the show now that Ryan is likely to be more involved going forward. Homelander clearly wants to be genuinely loved, but until Ryan was born, the catch with his wish was that he had no equal on the show and everyone who knew him was afraid of him. Now that he has Ryan by his side (for now), Homelander’s role as a father might really start to turn him into something better than he is. Homelander is easily the most obnoxious character in the series, but he’s shown that he loves his son and wants to do what’s best for him.

So that just leaves how Ryan will react upon learning from his father’s actions. Ryan has shown that he has some sense of right and wrong. Unlike his father, he was raised for a time in a healthy environment with people who care more about his well-being than about him reaching his potential. However, he is at that age where his mind is still malleable. Homelander cares about Ryan, but doesn’t know much about how to take care of someone in a healthy way. The only thing worse than Homelander is two Homelanders, and if that’s what’s going to happen, The boys‘ universe is going to Armageddon.

The boys can currently be streamed on Amazon Prime.
