Blue Knees is a terrifying monster that relentlessly pursues Luca through his grandfather’s house in MADiSON. When he grabs Luca, the character faints.

As Luca navigates the horrors of the alternate version of his grandfather’s house, MADiSON, players will encounter the terrifying Blue Knees creature. Blue Knees is a tall, skinny alien with sharp teeth and no eyes. Throughout the game, Blue Knees relentlessly stalks players, who gradually come and go. If players are caught by Blue Knees, they pass out and wake up in a safe room. However, in order to progress through the story, players must find a way to escape.

There are a few repeating elements in MADiSON that are crucial to learning more about the story, moving the plot forward, and finding a way to escape Blue Knees. One of these is the instant camera, which the main character Luca gets at the start of the game. The instant camera is used to take pictures of things around the house, but in certain locations the picture will trigger a change or reveal a clue. The gramophones that appear throughout the house are the other repeating element that is pivotal in the Blue Knees story.

To escape Blue Knees, players must find and operate the gramophones. Of the six available phonographs, two random players will present one of Blue Knees’ eyeballs. These are the necessary items needed to stop Blue Knees from chasing the player and escaping once and for all.

How to Escape Blue Knees in MADiSON

MADiSON Blue Knees Eyeball Gramophone

When players interact with the gramophones all over Grandpa’s house in MADiSON, Blue Knees will appear. The gramophones must be turned by hand to play a song, and to see if Blue Knees’ eyeball will appear, players must play the entire song. While the mechanic is simple enough, Blue Knees will appear and chase the player once the song is played. The secret to stopping Blue Knees is to collect his missing eyeballs and return them to the hole in the floor in the safe room; when players take a picture of the hole with their camera, they see a pile of eyeballs under the floorboard, hinting at what needs to be done.

Players know when Blue Knees appears in MADiSON by the eerie echoing sound that plays, accompanied by the shaking of the screen. When players first learn about Blue Knees by reading the creepy children’s book, they will be told that he is afraid of the light and that he should use something bright for protection. The only bright object players have is the camera flash, so if Blue Knees appears, take a picture of it. Blue Knees will gradually turn on and off, but the camera flash should make it disappear temporarily. Keep winding the gramophone pendulum and play the song to the end, then check if the eyeball appears in the hole in the gramophone horn.

Once players have found both eyeballs, return to the safe room with the candles and wooden blocks in a circle on the floor. Place the two eyeballs in the hole in the floor and Luca will confirm that his grandmother was not sick, that she did not commit any murders and that Blue Knees was responsible for everything. The room gets dark and when players take a few shots to see what happens, Blue Knees will grab Luca. This time, Luca wakes up in another room, but has escaped Blue Knees. Go through the hallway, follow Madison’s ghost and complete the story.
