Amouranth is among the ranks of streamers who have become legitimate celebrities beyond the scope of Muscular contraction or platforms in general. She has also leveraged this celebrity in incredibly lucrative ways, recently claiming that she can cash out $100,000 daily without worry. Amouranth isn’t slowing down either. She recently shared on social media that she has aspirations to host her own convention. However, she also clarifies that the convention wouldn’t necessarily be focused on Amouranth, much to the chagrin of Twitch fans.
Using his personal Twitter account “wildkait”, Amouranth asked his followers if they were or knew anyone with experience starting or running a convention. Specifically, she mentions looking for someone with “director, management, c-suite, or chair/board experience.” In other words, she is looking for veterans at the organizational level of the convention to help her figure out the next steps to run a convention or start taking the next steps. By all evidence, Amouranth is very serious about exploring the possibility of holding a convention.
Details on what Amouranth wants to do with a convention are unclear, however. What she does say is that she would like to host the convention in her hometown, which would likely be Houston, Texas. She also says her goal would be a minimum of 25,000 attendees, which would be modest compared to the world’s biggest fan conventions, but still considerable.
On the subject of the convention, Amouranth does not clarify. What she says is that this is not an “amo-con bat sign” and further, that the “subject has little to do with me other than that I am/am a fan”. In other words, it looks like Amouranth wants to host a convention for something it likes, rather than hosting a convention for the Amouranth brand or any of its various streams, products or services.
While the way Amouranth framed the convention is pretty mysterious so far, that’s not necessarily her intention. The Twitch star clarifies that she wants to share more information about her plans in the coming weeks. She’s just trying to better understand what’s needed for a convention right now. It is the first step of a process.
If Amouranth hosted a specific convention for its streaming channels, it would undoubtedly be popular. The disaster at a convention by YouTuber Tana Mongeau in Anaheim, California, drew more than 20,000 attendees before it was shut down and cancelled.
