Form factor and comfort
One of the defining factors for virtually every Turtle Beach headset since the brand’s inception has been comfort and in that sense the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX headset doesn’t disappoint at all. The earcup design of the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX headset remains resolutely comfortable as your ears feel properly padded and cushioned, prolonged use of the headset never becomes uncomfortable, not least thanks to the foam cushioning effect in the fabric.
As for the physical form factor and the ‘feel’ of the product, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX headset certainly does the job well enough. While the flip-up, omnidirectional mic snaps back and forth with ease, the plastic used for the headset’s frame itself doesn’t feel quite as premium and lacks some of the finesse seen in other headsets. Of course, for that extra finesse you’re probably going to be handing a whole bunch of extra cash on top of the £129.99 \ $129.95 suggested retail price that the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX headset is currently selling for, so it’s well worth it. to bear that in mind.
Even taking that into account, there are still elements of the headset’s design that really appeal to me. Having the volume controls on a rotary knob is, in my humble opinion, much easier to handle than a pair of static knobs and much easier to adjust while playing without having to remove the headset. Likewise, the face buttons are sturdy and easy to press, minimizing the downtime you spend on the headset while allowing you to game instead.
With the Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX headset, Turtle Beach has crafted a surprisingly snappy headset that goes beyond what its mid-range price point might distract, even if the lack of 3D audio support and a slightly less-than-premium feel can be a bit annoys. Nevertheless, the effortless cross-platform support, great sound and unparalleled battery life make the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX headset a great value and easily one of the best headsets money can buy right now.
