Riding his blue Wyvern and fully armored, the nameless king is one of the side bosses in Dark Souls 3, in front of you after you summon him. After the call bell is rung, most of the area is covered in a thick fog, making some small areas and items inaccessible to reach until you beat the rumors Lord Gwynhis son.
While other bosses, such as Ornstein, also have similar movesets and use a spear, it is strongly suggested that the Nameless King was once the master of Ornstein, making him stand out above all others using the same weapon. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

Nameless King is located in Arch Dragon Peak. The fight is optional, meaning you don’t have to face it to finish. The boss fight is accessed by ringing a bell, which will play a cutscene with fog cover over the area. There are no summonable NPCs for this battle; however you can call White Phantoms to help you during the fight.
If you beat him, you get 80,000 souls and the Soul of the nameless king. You can transpose the soul on Firelink Shrine and choose to get Storm curved sword (Weapon), Dragon Slayer Sword Spear (Weapon), or Storm (miracle). You can use the dragon slayer set (Ornstein) from the arena after the fight is over.

Nameless King Attacks
Nameless King has two stages. In the first stage, he rides a blue Wyvern and most of the attacks will be from the dragon. In the second phase you will face the Nameless King. His attacks are more deadly in the second phase and the timing of the attacks can be difficult to analyze at times.

Strategy
Nameless King is one of the hardest battles in the game, especially in the second phase of the battle. He deals a lot of lightning damage. Because of this, it is recommended that you wear a harness with the highest resistance to lightning damage. Thunder Stone Slab Ring is also an extremely useful ring for this entire fight.
When you enter through the fog gate, the boss will fly down on his Wyvern. The first stage of the fight is titled “King of the StormIn this phase, the Wyvern remains in charge and will occasionally attempt to attack you with his spear. The Wyvern, on the other hand, will try to breathe fire and bite you if given the chance.
There are two attacks where the Wyvern flies in the air. This can be followed by Breath of Firewhere the Wyvern will spit fire. The dragon can also fly in a circle in the sky while the Nameless King shoots Lightning Arrows at you. These can be avoided by dodging to the sides when the arrows are about to hit you. A good time to attack is when the Wyvern spits fire on the ground. Its head takes a lot of damage, allowing you to run towards it and get multiple hits.
During the first phase, you have to keep an eye on both the King and the Wyvern, as they can both perform different attacks. Since the Wyvern flies around quite a bit, this can cause your camera lock to get out of hand. Because of this, Lock-on is not recommended for this fight. However, you must have your eyes on the boss at all times, no matter what he is doing.
Camping under the boss to attack his feet is not a reliable strategy as the Wyvern will try to stomp you. It will also fly away and be able to spit on top of your fire.
In the second phase you will face the Nameless King. His attacks are hard to figure out as he is quite aggressive but his attacks are sometimes slowed down causing you to dodge for a second before the attack hits you. He also has a high damage output and can take you out in two hits. The boss is aggressive for most of the fight and you don’t get time to heal constantly. Try to limit the use of Estus Flasks in the first phase, because in the second phase you will need a lot.
Combat is easy for wizards because the Wyvern is weak to magical damage, making the first stage very easy. Nameless King itself takes normal damage from Magic, making it useful in the second stage as well. You can summon a melee class player who can attack the boss while constantly casting spells.
If you fight the boss as a melee character, you can act as lightning and a physical tank to take less damage. If you stay on the right side and dodge his attacks, you’ll have plenty of time to face setbacks before he makes the next attack.
Some boss attacks cause air shock waves. They move slowly and can be blocked. It is not recommended to roll back for this due to the slowness of the wind towards you. Most attacks have lightning AOE, which spread quite a bit. These are hard to dodge because you have to roll between the strands that come out.
