2022 was exceptional for the PS5, and while the year isn’t over yet, there are several games that could be released next year. Every game presentation and expo has something to tease gamers about. In addition, there are always rumors and leaks that suggest that there may be other titles to come.

None of these PS5 games have confirmed release dates, but many are hoping they’re still out in 2023. Release dates can always change, even up to the month of a game’s particular launch date.

What games might be coming to PS5 in 2023?

1) Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Fans know that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PS5, it’s just a matter of when, not if. Unveiled a year ago, the sequel will still follow both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they protect New York City from a number of villains.

Although Venom has been confirmed as an antagonist for the game, he is not alone. The trailer also appeared to tease Kraven the Hunter, one of Spider-Man’s deadliest enemies.

Developer Insomniac Games has confirmed that there will be plenty of well-known super-villains for the two web-slingers to take on and conquer. The overarching story isn’t known yet, but the game is on the way, hopefully for the PS5 next year.

2) The Last of Us factions

The Last of Us Factions is the multiplayer aspect of the series, but The Last of Us 2 didn’t get it on PS5. It was supposed to be part of the initial release, but things have changed since then and it’s currently slated to be a standalone in The Last of Us universe.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the game other than that it will be a multiplayer title.

A bit of concept art has been shown and is known to be as big as single player games. It is also believed to have its own story within the story. It will also likely have players pick a faction in the game’s world and compete with players who are not on their side.

3) Marvel’s Wolverine

Another game revealed last year, Marvel’s Wolverine could be released for the PS5 in 2023. It’s still in its infancy though, so there’s no telling if that’s true.

One thing is for sure: James Howlett will star, better known to some as Logan or Wolverine. Since this is also an Insomniac Games title, it’s reasonable to assume this will be a fast-paced action title where Wolverine battles his way through some familiar, powerful foes.

4) Horizon Call of the Mountain

This PS5 exclusive was unveiled this year in the June 2022 State of Play and is set in the Horizon universe. Unlike its predecessors, it’s a VR game and Horizon Call of the Mountain could be what the PSVR2 needs to convince people to buy the hardware.

Unlike previous games, however, a new protagonist has been revealed, Ryas. A former Carja soldier is looking for redemption and will travel through the land of Carja and Nora to get it. It’s a new way to experience Horizon’s post-apocalyptic world, and hopefully it’s coming next year.

5) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

The most popular Star Wars game of all time is officially being remade, but there are constant rumors of the game being delayed or getting into trouble. Embracer Group, the development company working on the game, recently confirmed that they have switched development teams.

However, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still on the way for the PS5 and will cover the entire original 2003 release. At the time of writing, it’s not clear if there’s a specific release date, but fans can look forward to the story and characters they love, just with a much more modern look and feel.

Fans can certainly look forward to some returning voices, such as Jennifer Hale. It has been confirmed that she will be returning to play Bastila Shan again.

Publication date: 2023?

Unfortunately, not many of these games have confirmed a release date, but fans are hoping they’ll be released for the PS5 sometime in 2023. Either way, 2023 is going to be a pretty exciting year for PlayStation fans.
