AMD confirmed the Ryzen 7000 series SKUs and specs at their “Together we Advance PCs” event.
Ryzen 7000 requires an upgrade of the basic hardware such as the AM5 socket motherboard, DDR5 RAM and new technology to support DDR5 known as RAMP.
The Ryzen 9 7950X has a core count of 16 cores and 32 threads. This processor has a high core core frequency of 4.5 GHz and a boost clock of 5.7 GHz.
The Ryzen 9 7900X comes with 12 cores and 32 threads running at a base clock of 4.7GHz, which can be bumped up to 5.6GHz.
The Ryzen 7 7700X is equipped with an 8-core 16-thread configuration, running at a base clock frequency of 4.5 GHz and a boost speed of 5.4 GHz.
The Ryzen 5 7600X features 6 cores and 12 threads. Although it is the most affordable SKU, you still get a base clock speed of 4.7GHz and a boost speed of 5.3GHz.

AMD is ready to launch the Ryzen 7000 series on September 27, 2022. The new generation of processors was first unveiled at CES this year before the SKUs and prices were announced later in late August.

What is Zen4?
Zen 4 will be built on a smaller process than Zen 3. The current generation – Zen 3 – is built on a 7nm process, while the Zen 4 architecture will be built on a 5nm process.
Earlier this year, AMD estimated that Zen 4 would deliver an 8% – 10% increase in IPC (instructions per clock) over Zen 3. But as AMD optimizes its Zen 4 processors for production, they’ve seen an IPC improvement closer to 13. %.
