The current generation of gaming hardware is a few years old and there are rumors of improved versions on the horizon.

We don’t know what these new models will look like, but we have a long list of things we’d like to see.

However, we lack the degree in product design to make our dreams come true.

That’s why we enlisted the help of Craiyon, a popular AI image generator, to make our dreams – a little – become real.

Rumor has it that PlayStation is going to make a new PS5 with ONE strange change
Check out the new Xbox Elite Controller - but see which one you buy

For all fans, we’ve also included what we’d like to see changed about the console and why.

It may not be pretty, but here are the next three big consoles, as designed by AI.

Nintendo Switch 2.0

Smaller and with a better controller.

Nintendo stands out in the gaming market as its own thing. It’s not really trying to compete with PlayStation or Xbox.

What we love about the Switch is the ability to go from handheld to home console in the blink of an eye, so we wanted to capitalize on that.

Even the Switch Lite is a bit too bulky to comfortably carry in your pocket, so we’d make the base even smaller, phone-sized.

The other problem the Switch has is that the Joycon is boring.

Aside from stick drift – a common problem with the controllers – they are just small and hard to use.

Based on Hori’s external controller, we would like a controller that can turn into a pro controller without the need for extra grip.

Adjusting the shape would give a better grip and prevent the Joycon from getting lost in your hands.

We’d also give them a good d-pad, which is something we know Nintendo is trying to add in newer releases.

The Switch’s obvious flaw is that it isn’t as powerful as its competitors, but it doesn’t have to be.

If you want a powerful handheld, the Steam Deck is a great option, with an incredible selection of powerful games.

Nintendo can stick to what it does best and focus on a handheld that goes back to the company’s roots.

Let’s give back something as daring and glorious as Nintendo’s best console, the Game Boy Micro.

We also want to keep that beautiful OLED screen. It’s hard to go back once you’ve had one.

Playstation 5 Pro

The PS5 needs some serious downsizing.

The PlayStation 5 is a big healthy boy that Sony is very proud of, but it is certainly not without its flaws.

We’d like a much smaller PS5, and if we’re really greedy it should sit comfortably on the shelf.

The AI spat out this neat little square and it gave us the vibe of the PS One refurbishment, one of the slickest of consoles.

We wanted to keep the disc drive, but also give people the only PlayStation feature they’ve wanted since the PS5 release: good backwards compatibility.

Not just through subscription services like PS Plus, but fully on physical compatibility like with the 60GB PS3 model.

Hopefully a smaller console means less noise too, as the PS5 can get quite loud when you’re in a game.

The last thing we would change is the controller.

We love the touchpad, which is great for typing, and are in love with the haptic feedback and reactive triggers.

However, PlayStation has a weird attachment to misaligned thumbsticks that we’ll never really understand.

If they were offset like the Xbox Elite controller, the DualSense would be the best on the market.

Next Xbox Series

It was very difficult to get the AI away from this muddy navy color, so apologies in advance for that.

However, a choice of colors instead of the standard white and black would be a nice addition to the design.

The overall design of the smaller Series S is a big hit with players, especially how well it fits on each shelf.

The only problem the Series consoles suffer from is the noise, so a bigger fan with a lower power would not only help with the console’s power consumption issues, but also keep it quiet.

Despite loving the shape and size of the S, we’re talking dream images here, so we still want the drive and power of the X.

We’d rather the power didn’t come with the obvious drawback of the console looking like a fridge.

You may also have noticed that we just Photoshopped into the Elite controller, because the design and layout of this bad boy is already perfect.

But if we allow PlayStation to compensate for its thumbsticks, then I think it’s okay to let Xbox steal PlayStation’s haptics and adaptive triggers.

William and Harry have a 'forgotten' stepsister and she was at the Queen's funeral

While Xbox already has great backwards compatibility with the games in the Game Pass library, can we get those for free too?

Maybe that’s asking too much.
