
IFA 2022 is a global showcase of new technology where companies show off exciting gear and gadgets that will soon arrive at our homes. This year’s show was packed with foldable and flexible displays, ways to upgrade your entertainment, improved app experiences and cool new product categories.
After exploring all the new offerings from manufacturers, we narrowed it down to 11 of the best new products from IFA 2022. Most of these products will arrive before the end of the year and we’re already testing some of them.
TCL 6 Series Roku

TCL is back with an impressive update to the Roku version of the TCL 6 Series, packed with must-have features. The 2022 model can deliver 4K gaming at 120Hz, allowing PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers to play at a higher refresh rate. PC gamers can push the screen even further up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The new 6 Series includes two HDMI ports that support the enhanced gaming features and now supports AMD FreeSync. Rounding out the offering is support for Dolby Vision IQ, thanks to a new ambient light sensor and an updated design with better cable management. The 2022 TCL 6 Series is available now starting at $699 for the 55-inch model.
Jabra Elite 5

Philips Hue now offers responsive lighting setups for larger screens. The Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip is now available for 32-inch to 34-inch monitors and multi-monitor setups. These light strips sync with your on-screen content and splash the color of your games or movies on the wall behind your monitor for an incredibly immersive experience. The flexible bulbs are compatible with the Hue Sync desktop app, Play Sync box and can also work with Corsair iCue. The larger monitor strips cost $189.99 and the multi-monitor bundle costs $279.99.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G8

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is the company’s first OLED monitor. This new 34-inch display delivers a super-fast response time of 0.1 ms and a refresh rate of 175 Hz. Without backlighting, users will experience better color accuracy and brightness, as well as deeper blacks and better contrast. The 34-inch screen offers a resolution of 3,400 x 1,440 and a curve of 1800R for a more immersive gaming experience. This monitor is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified. The OLED G8 includes Samsung’s Smart Hub software to access entertainment apps and free live content. The Gaming Hub streamlines access to online gaming services. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 goes on sale in the fourth quarter.
LG OLED Flex

The LG OLED Flex is a 42-inch OLED TV that is both a curved and standard screen. This bendable TV allows users to enjoy a flat screen for movies and TV and switch to a curved screen with a curve of up to 900R while gaming. The LG OLED Flex supports 20 different curve levels for the ultimate customization. In addition, the screen supports an option to adjust the amount of screen used, so you can use the full screen in an RPG and a smaller portion in a first-person shooter where you need to see everything without moving your head. Integrated lighting adds to the immersion by synchronizing with the content or audio on the screen. The monitor also includes a new LG Game app with Twitch, YouTube and other apps, as well as a Multi-View mode that lets you put two different sources on the screen at the same time and choose which one you want to hear.
Honor 70

The Honor 70 is an exciting new entry that packs in the latest Sony IMX800 image sensor for enhanced camera performance. Honor also includes a Solo Cut mode to simplify video creation. This mid-range phone still manages to deliver good design and battery life, as well as a curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Honor 70 is now available for €549 in select countries.
Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022

The Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 includes a new 12th generation Intel Core processor and an improved bright 3.1K display. This is the latest version of Huawei’s MacBook Air competitor, and it delivers a beautiful 3:2 aspect ratio display, new colorways and excellent build quality. The screen now delivers up to 500 nits of brightness and is almost borderless. The aspect ratio offers more space for working on the web and documents on the 14.2-inch screen, while the laptop remains compact overall. The touchpad is huge and one of the best we’ve used on a Windows device.
Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is expensive, but it’s one of the first true consumer foldable laptops with a massive folding screen. This 17.3-inch laptop folds in half for a compact option when you’re on the go. You can use it with the keyboard at the bottom of the screen if your workspace is at a premium, or you can expand the screen to its full 17.3-inch and use the keyboard to work on a massive portable screen. This impressive device shows us what is possible and what could come in foldable laptops. It will cost $3,499 when released.
Huawei Watch D

Huawei
The Huawei Watch D is a smartwatch with a blood pressure sensor built into the cuff. This is a feature that most wearables don’t offer and Huawei will bring this device to Europe in the fall. In addition to the blood pressure power, which inflates the wristband with a small pump, this device can also take an EKG and monitor your temperature, heart rate and blood oxygen level. The Watch D works with Android 6 and later and iOS 12 and later. Expect a price of €449 when it goes on sale in Europe.
LG Styler Shoe Cover

LG
The LG Styler ShoeCase is a way to keep your sneakers clean and protected, while still showing off. The display arrangement uses LG TrueSteam technology to clean your shoes after wearing, and the cover protects your shoes from moisture and UV light. There is no release date or price yet, but with a growing collection of Nike and Yeezy in-house, we’re keeping a close eye on this.
