GARY — A new tune is ringing when it comes to betting on professional and college sports events in Hoosier State.

Hard Rock Sportsbook, Indiana’s newest online sports betting application, launched Tuesday after final “go-live” approval from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

It’s the mobile version of the retail sportsbook that opened in May at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, but it’s available to any adult 21 and older in Indiana, regardless of whether they ever visit the Gary casino.

“We are excited to bring the legendary Hard Rock experience to our mobile sports betting players across Indiana,” said Marlon Goldstein, Hard Rock Digital CEO and Executive Director.

The Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile application can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (for Android users).

It offers innovative promotions, fast deposits and withdrawals, in-app streaming and hundreds of games and props to wager every day along with draw parlays and prop parlays.

The app’s rewards program also includes a Mystery Wheel that allows players to earn up to $5,000 in free bets.

“The Mystery Wheel’s successful debut is the latest example of the unique interactive experiences found only at Hard Rock Sportsbook, as well as our commitment to building the most entertaining app on the market,” said Goldstein.

Hard Rock quickly became Indiana’s highest-earning casino after opening on May 14, 2021, replacing the former Majestic Star Casinos on Lake Michigan in Gary.

But Hard Rock has so far lagged behind its casino league in Northwest Indiana in sports betting, as the parent company focused on developing its own mobile sports betting app, rather than partnering with established sports betting companies like DraftKings or FanDuel. .

State gaming records show that only $439,321 was wagered on sports at the Hard Rock Casino in July. That was less than half the number of sporting goods retailed last month at both the Ameristar Casino in East Chicago and the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond.
