The Las Vegas Raiders open the 2022 NFL season today by taking on their rival the Los Angeles Rams.
With multiple off-season additions, the Raiders are poised to prove that last season’s playoff appearance was just the beginning.
Remember the rule of five. If the Las Vegas Raiders win that important stat battle, the game is over. For those who don’t remember, it has to do with pockets and covers. If the Raiders have three pockets and give up two, that means they are plus one. Then if they get four turnovers and give up only one, that means they’re plus three. That would give them a plus-four for the day. They want to get a plus-five ratio every game. Teams that meet the five scenario rule win an average of 91 percent of their NFL games.

PEACE:
It’s hard to imagine the first half going much worse for the Las Vegas Raiders against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Things looked promising on the Raiders game’s first run, where quarterback Derek Carr hooked up with wide receiver Davante Adams for multiple big plays.
It led to a field goal and a draw, but since that first drive, the Raiders have only been able to accumulate 22 yards of offense.
The Raiders failed to set up a running game, with just 14 rushing yards in the game.
Except for Adams, the other Raiders playmakers failed to show up, with one catch combined between tight end Darren Waller and receiver Hunter Renfrow.
Carr hasn’t had his best day, he was fired three times and threw an interception that resulted in the Chargers scoring before the end of the first half.
On the other hand, the Chargers attack was dominant thanks to the efforts of QB Justin Herbert.
In the first half, Herbert completed 85 percent of his passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 10.2 yards per attempt.
The Raiders defense must find a way to disrupt Herbert in the second half to have a chance.
