The first video Thursday night football plans have gotten a lot of attention for the primary broadcast team of Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit, but it’s also noteworthy to see what Amazon continues to do with other alternative streams for those games. They’ve already announced a new one for a few games yet to be announced with Dude Perfect, and now they’ve announced a remarkable carryover from their days as TNF’s streaming destination rather than its primary channel. That would be TNF with Storm & Kremerthe Andrea Kremer-Hannah Storm broadcast they debuted in 2018, which featured the NFL’s first all-female commentary team.
This fall, Kremer and Storm will air an alternate feed for two of Prime Video’s games. And their feed will now be more focused on storytelling, featuring live player interviews and more. Here’s that announcement:

Here’s more from that release:
Storm and Kremer, who have collaborated on Prime Video broadcasts for the past four seasons and have become the first and only all-female broadcast stand in the NFL, will team up again, but in an entirely new capacity. Their alternate stream for 2022 will differ from the duo’s previous work on Prime Video as they delve deeper into storytelling and bring viewers to the matchup and competition from a whole new perspective. The stream features live interviews with league players and insiders, behind-the-scenes stories from their decades on the league, and much more from their unique perspectives. “TNF with Storm & Kremer” will make two appearances next season, with dates to be announced at a later date.
“Fans have been delighted with the coverage Hannah and Andrea have provided on Thursday Night Football over the past few years, and we’re delighted that they’re back to offer a new option to delve deeper into the individuals in and around the game ” says Mary. Donoghue, VP, Global Sports Video, Amazon.
“I’m incredibly proud of the path Hannah and I have walked in our four-year broadcast of games for Prime Video,” said Kremer. “Our focus has always been to provide fans with truly unique insights into the game, and I’m excited to contribute to a new stream that will highlight our interviewing skills and extensive knowledge of the NFL.”
“Great to be back, with a new twist, for our fifth straight season with Prime Video,” said Storm. “Andrea and I look forward to making the most of being the first all-female booth to call out NFL games and showcase our own unique approach and style. Now we get to do it with some of our best friends and some of the brightest minds in the game!”
This is an interesting shift for the Kremer-Storm pairing, but one that certainly seems to make some sense. Now that Amazon handles the primary broadcast of these games itself rather than just fetching the feeds from partners (most recently Fox/NFL Network), their alternate feeds can be more distinct from the main broadcast, and Storm and Kremer both certainly have a lot of interviews experience and lots of interesting behind-the-scenes stories to tell. And they’ve been a notable addition to Prime Video broadcasts over the past few years, so it’s cool to see that continue. Kremer spoke to Ben Heisler on the AA podcast about the Amazon opportunity and more in October 2018.
Additionally, broadcasts that emphasize interviews have become a bigger deal of late, both with guest-heavy alternative feeds like the ManningCast and as part of some regular broadcasts. And it’s also worth noting that alternative TNF broadcasts are likely to be a bigger deal this year than before, as finding one simply requires selecting a different feed in the Prime Video interface rather than switching from a linear broadcast to a streaming broadcast. So it makes sense that Amazon would do some of these, and it sounds like they’ll be announcing more in the coming days as well. We’ll see what others are out there, and we’ll see which games Kremer and Storm appear for.
Thursday night football on Prime Video kicks off with the Los Angeles Chargers against the Kansas City Chiefs on September 15, with pre-game coverage at 7:00 PM ET and kick-off at 8:15 PM ET.
